My grandson is not a child, but he collects any lego set - especially the Star Wars sets. I would have began to know how to put this together. He was thrilled when he got this for Christmas Eve and he as finished with it either that night or the next day. He proudly displays all of his project. Personally, I think the price of these things if outrageous and none are worth the money but his smile was definitely worth the money.

This was a great product for gifting my teenage son this past Christmas 2021 to go with his other Star Wars lego collection. I was trying to wait until he finished it to send a photo...Hes still working on it 6 months later...LOL! It is one EXTREMELY LARGE masterpiece to assemble and worth every penny! Thanks.

Putting R2D2 together was fun at first. I had to stop on bag two and wait for Lego to ship a vital piece to the inner workings of the droid that was missing and now have to wait for another piece to be shipped from bag 6. The ordering process the first time was a miserable experience, and now with this second missing piece it has taken the fun out of building. After leaving my review I found another missing piece and am still trying to get one of the missing parts from Lego. For a set that costs this much, I would have thought Lego would be better about shipping missing pieces and responding to customers. After this experience with the company I am done buying legos.

Christmas gift for 17 year old. There are missing pieces and she is only on bag 1. Hoping this doesn’t happen with every bag.

This was a very fun build. It took me probably 8 hours total to build it (going at a leisurely pace and split over a few day). The arms aren’t as sturdy as I would have liked and if you are adding a lighting kit be sure you aren’t displaying it on a glass surface. When lit the colored insides show in the reflection. Mine came missing the sticker for the plaque but I reached out to lego and they sent me a replacement free of charge. Overall this was a solid purchase and will make for a good display piece.

I bought this as a gift for my wife. The finished build looks great and the opening doors and foot that drops down are nice additions. She thought the build was a bit on the technical side with a lot of Lego technic pieces in the middle and didnt enjoy that part as much as some other builds like the millennium falcon or stranger things house. Unfortunately R2D2 was missing some pieces and we had to contact Lego to get the replacements. Overall, a great looking build but be warned that there is some technical building if you arent into that kind of a Lego kit.

Box came with punctures in the side. Sad to see when trying to preserve box and having the OG value. Very disappointed for collector purposes.

Enjoyed putting R2 together... follow the directions and you wont have any problems. The movable parts are a lot of fun... just wish it came with sound. :)

I havent been building lego sets for very long but of the ones I have this one was definitely the most challenging for me. I did have issues with the two side pieces coming undone and eventually had to just use superglue to keep them in place because any amount of pressure and they would just pop right off. But I am happy with the overall piece and it will make a nice display
