I tried washing the original filter but realized I was losing suction and there was a funky dog smell. Turns out the dog hair gets trapped along the insides of the “sock” filter and there was junk at the bottom I had to fish out with a bamboo chopstick. After changing the filter there was more suction power and no wet dog smell blowing out. Now that I have 2 new filters I can use a new one while the other is being washed and dried.

The motor filter began squealing within 1 week, I thought it was because of all the extra cleaning we were doing so I swapped it out for a 2nd new one and within a month it squealed as well...it is very annoying for sure...buyer beware!

Initially, I was just looking for the long filter and this price was great for the two... but adding the other filters in was wonderful and it sets me up for the next time I need to change them. Shipping was quick and easy and they fit perfectly into my Dyson Animal Ball Vacuum.

First this design was not Dyson’s finest. Supposed to wash these monthly, so I ordered a few extra so I can swap out while the others dry. The filter that goes in the canister isn’t well made. The filter media separated from the plastic ring at the top. They snap back together but they really need glue. When this fails a lot more dust goes to the second filter behind the wheel and the unit struggles and runs hot. The next canister filter split along the Dream on the filter media which again sent tons of dust to the second filter causing the unit to run hot. When the filters are new the suction is great. As they fill the suction drops dramatically. Filter failures are an irritation added to other issues which means I’ll probably avoid Dyson the next time.

My 1 year old Dyson was slowing wayyyyyy down and the suction was gone. It started overheating and when I began trouble shooting it led me to filter replacement. Duh. We have two large German Shepherds, a Deagle, two Maine Coon Cats and a short haired Calico, we burn wood for heat. To say the least the fur factor and dust in my house is out of control most days. Add three teenage boys and a husband who works in construction my vacuum get an incredible workout. So I read the user manual and I now know I need to change filters every six months.

Have two different models DC65 & Animal2. I wasn’t sure after reading the description if this package would handle both. Decided that it was worth a chance buying them. Once the main & hepa filters were changed on BOTH vacuums I tested them. Suction improved dramatically, both cleaned like new. Realized that I need to change the filters rather than clean. I’m going to order a new set

Love the fact that I have two extra filters to rotate when one is drying. Works just as well as the Dyson brand but costs so much less. Well worth it

These look identicle to the dyson ones that came off my animal 2, except these were nice white instead of nasty yellow. Filters will get nasty over time, even if you properly care for them. They gradually lose that freshly-vacummed smell. I like to replace them once a year, so that doesnt happen to me! I like to run the dirty filter (the one that is rinse-able) through with the laundry when you want to clean it. Since this is a pack of two, I let it air dry while I use the other one. This method has been keeping my filters nice and white.
