I’ve owned two other Lexmark printers which I really liked, so bought this printer for our second home. The hardware is great but as others have pointed out installation can be a nightmare. No manual comes with the printer and trust me you need one! There is a tiny two-line display that is extremely non-intuitive, although if you mess around with it long enough you can sort of figure it out. The app they tell you to download is very basic and does get you connected to Wi-Fi, although you need to go into settings on your iPhone and connect your phone to the printers Wi-Fi first...which isn’t obvious. Then when I tried to print it kept saying I needed to put paper in the tray, which was already full of paper. We tried everything and finally sent it back for exchange. The new one had the same problem! Arghhhhhh!!! After much more messing around with it I believe this is a driver issue. The printer is trying to print from the multi-purpose tray on the front rather than Tray 1 at the bottom. I’ve set the default tray to Tray 1 yet the problem persists. On my Mac I was able to change the tray setting to Auto and it works fine now; on my iPhone my son discovered that if you change the paper from “letter” to “letter, plain paper” it’ll work! You have to do that every time you print though. I can live with this, at least the printer is way better than the HP it replaces, which would never print wirelessly like it was supposed to. Hopefully a future iOS update will fix this! Be forewarned!!!

Slow as molasses

So, initial unboxing and setup was a breeze, even from the little screen with only arrows and an ok button. Connected to my WiFi no issues. Its from here when the issues begin. It drops off my network constantly - even with turning off all power saving features. I have Windows PCs, Android devices and Chromebooks that all have difficulty sending this print jobs. Even after adding the appropriate drivers, plugins and apps this printer goes missing/unavailable, print jobs stall or error out - in general just a royal PITA. Probably best as a direct connect printer thats shared out from a desktop. Not a feasable network printer IMO. Going to giver this away to a family thjat needs a printer for distance learning.

Very happy with this printer. It is fast and smooth, the print quality is fantastic and the mobile app has been flawless. So glad I went with this model. Highly recommend.

... But that is where it ends. I have been frogging around for 3 days so far and still have not gotten it installed. Valuable information on intalling is scattered over a number of HP vidoes that you must find on your own with a Google search. When you find it, it is usually some guy with a thick accent who is hard to understand. I still have not found out how to connect to the WiFi. Also unable to get the print cartridges to click in as shown in the video. All in all, great price, but an absulute nightmare to install. I am unhappy the I purchased this boat anchor.

I love everything about this printer! It prints from my phone with ease! It’s took maybe 10 mins to unpack it and print my first document!

I love it!, works well and fast.. I love the mobile print feature..it makes using it soo easy!

The printer is a good size for small business; could even be used as a home printer, even though it’s monochrome, for simple print jobs or someone who isnt printing pictures or needs color. It was easy to setup connection to my wifi. I tried installing the software from the disk that was provided on a dell laptop with windows 10, 64 bit, however, it would begin the download process, but wouldn’t actually install on my computer. Once the initial download bar completed, nothing else happened. I looked in my downloads folder and other folders for the download, but nothing was there. I tried this multiple times and it didn’t work. Most companies will put the software on their website as well, but that wasn’t the case here. I was unable to find anything on the website. I couldn’t even find the specific printer/model on the site. So far, I am unable to fully test the product because the software will not install.

I would be returning this printer as I was misinformed about the optional tray being included but that it wasn`t when the printer arrived. Other than that it is a very fast and efficient printer.

Works fine. Decent basic laser printer.
