The screen is a good choice for gaming high graphics but I hate the way it’s shaped. Takes up a lot of desk space.

This monitor has been great for gaming. There are two quirks I would note, though. First, the monitor doesnt have any speakers, but my Windows 11 wants to send sound to it anyway. Im not sure if thats a monitor issue, or a Windows 11 issue, but once I shifted the settings to my headset, things work great. The other quirk is that the monitor is very bright. Like, almost too bright, even when I have brightness turned way down. I cant play with it in a dark room because it is too hard on my eyes in that setting. But others might like that brightness more than I do.

After doing research for months I settled on this monitor. I had a Viewsonic 32 ink 4k monitor that was just a little to big for my desk and the 4k made writing to small. When I would zoom in or make the print bigger it would get fuzzy around the edges. This Monitor is perfect for my needs. I never thought a higher refresh rating would make that big of a difference but, all I can say is wow. Everything looks so much better. I game at 1440p with an NVidia card and with G-Sync and high refresh this meets everything I could ask for and the price was perfect. Didnt feel to low and therefore a cheap construction product, and not so overly priced and covered with RGB that does nothing but drive the price up. If you want to game at 1440p at 144hz on a budget, please consider this monitor.

I was looking for a great gaming monitor but also something that had decent color quality as I am a graphic designer. This is the best of both worlds, I get great refresh rates during games and gameplay is smooth and tearless. The color clarity and brightness are great for working as well, I have plenty of screen real-estate for designing and easily split-screen for productive tasks. There are a decent amount of presets for gaming, however I find myself customizing to my own liking for what I need. Im so glad I purchased this monitor because the entire gaming experience has improved in both color and smoothness and I can be productive as well now that I work from home. I also have an Asus Pro-Art display for work which doesnt have the great refresh rate, but man the colors are even more vibrant and crystal clear. Thats the only reason I give this monitor a 4 star. I almost bought another LG to go side-by-side, but didnt make sense for a designer. I dont game on both monitors.

Note: The first display received was a loser in the so-called panel lottery. Horrendous backlight bleed, and a stuck pixel to go with it. Amazon rectified the issue within 2 days, and the second panel is better. Will not be returning the second. Whats in the box? - Your new panel and stand (w/ cable management system) - HDMI 2.1 and DP 1.4 cables - Power cable Things I like: - Color accuracy in sRGB mode is about as good as it gets without advanced calibration - Power saving mode is quick to respond to a sleeping computer - Some of the gaming features are neat, even if I wont use them - G-SYNC works as described - Picture quality is great, and the 144hz refresh rate is a game changer if this is an upgrade for you - The monitor settings are intuitive, and the controls are better than the four button system present on other panels What I dont like: - Backlight bleed still present in second panel - The stand is flimsy, and has a lot more give than Id like. Ill be replacing it soon. - On the topic of the stand, the cable management system is a joke. It amounts to a hook on the back in an inconvenient location. If your machine is to the left of your monitor... You will not use this. - The power cable has an ENORMOUS power supply that takes up more than half of a standard power strip Overall, Id have no trouble recommending this monitor. Im happy to accept that I got a bad panel the first time, and that it isnt the norm. Expect to replace the stand, but other than that... Well done LG.

Very good monitor. Right sized width and height. Graphics are high end resolution. Colors very well matched to images viewed. If you don’t have a high end graphics card in your laptop, you probably won’t be able to use it. I couldn’t get my HP X360 laptop to hook up with any monitors except an plain vanilla 1080 resolution monitor. So being so frustrated after months of trying all kinds of monitors from major manufacturers I ended up investing in a custom built desktop computer. My laptop just couldn’t work. Mine is a AMD Ryzen 9 3900x with AMD Radeon graphics card and a 1000 PSU. I designed and built it. This monitor is a worthy piece of equipment for matching with that kind of hardware. Quality testing was done by loaning my system to a hardcore gamer for two months. He loved the performance of the monitor and had no issue with all the games he played. In vendor terms, I let the gamer do a “burn in” test. I’ve checked all the reviews at most publications who rated this particular monitor the best gaming monitor you can buy. For me, I am doing digital art. As for gaming, I installed No Man Sky and tested it. The color saturation and hues were lifelike (which is a very BIG DEAL).

I am glad to receive a quality monitor. I didnt notice any bleed and the IPS 144hz HDR support blows the LG32GK850-G out the water. If you are stuck choosing between a 27inch 1440p or a 32inch 1440p, it really depends if you prefer crisp images and text over screen size and immersion. 110 ppi is slightly more noticeable than 91 ppi. And the screen size difference is even more noticeable. I would say that the 27GL850 is better than any 32 inch 1440p panel. I went from IPS to VA and then finally back to IPS. there is a noticeable color difference. I think most 32 inch gaming monitors are VA panels, and from my experience there was a color shift looking at the sides of the screen just by sitting right in front. Its pretty pointless to me in my opinion. I didnt receive any dead pixels are issues with the quality of the product. Im going to use this as my main monitor and give my other 32 inch va 165 hz panel to my son.

For gaming it’s a really incredible monitor. Great picture quality. If you wanna buy it just for gaming it’s the perfect for the price.

My ASUS pg279q just died after 11 years so I was looking for a suitable replacement. The LG 27gl850 is faster than the pg279q and the colors are better. I paid nearly $700 for the pg279q so the 27gl850 is a bargain. The only downside is that the 27gl850 does not have a built in g-sync module, but the only downside is that the minimum refresh rate is 48hz instead of 30hz like on the pg279q. I have to adjust graphical settings a little higher to make sure the frame rate does not hit 48hz or lower, but that is a small price to pay, and I would rather spend the extra $300 I saved on the lg 28gl850 on a newer graphics card. For reference, I am using a RTX 2060 super graphics card with g-sync turned on, and a i5 9600k processor.

Firstly sorry for not having any pictures but I want to keep this brief. (27GL850-B) Pros: The monitor is amazing, the nano IPS display is beautiful, vibrant, bright and responsive. The 144hz refresh rate is great. The monitor comes with a lot of features such as free sync and even has the official G-sync compatibility sticker if you have an Nvidia video card. The UI is very simple and easy to use/navigate with the nipple styled button. Con: The stand is fairly wobbly but I never planned to keep using even before purchasing the monitor. I highly recommend getting something like the NB North Bayou Monitor Desk Mount Stand its perfect for a monitor like this and around $30 most of the time. The HDR is well. I wouldnt use it Ive only tried it once and well clearly this isnt a display you should be using for HDR. That aside the only thing better than this monitor is either the newer version which is 165hz or the at the moment of writing this review the unreleased OLED 240hz display.
