> 3 dayI am coming from another LG monitor (UM67 29UM67) and the (27GL850-B 27) is a nice upgrade/downgrade compromise. I loved the ultrawide feature of my former monitor, but I really wanted to get a 144Hz refresh. Cost, size, resolution and 144Hz urged me to purchase the 27GL850-B 27. Other than loosing the ultrawide this monitor has better contrast, brightness, color and the 144Hz in Counter-Strike Source is very nice. Ultimatly I think this monitor should sell for $350.00 and not $499.00, but I really have no regrets. If you have an average monitor you will notice the quaility of the screen. If you have not experienced 144Hz in a fast paced shooter...you are missing something. I would not go for a 32 or 34 2K monitor over converns of the dpi resolution. This monitor is a very good compromise. Update - I dropped a star because Counter-Strike Source models get a weird ghosting effect. It is noticable and slightly distracting. So far I am not seeing the same issue in Battlefield 4. I will fiddle with settings and contact support and provide an update. Final Update - This monitor is far from perfect and I am not able to get rid of the weird ghosting effect. In addition I just noticied a stuck red pixel...sigh. At this price point a dead or stuck pixels should not be an issue. LG needs to step up the quality control.

> 3 daySo Ive been thinking about getting a monitor for a long time and after searching reviews, this monitor seemed to come up in the top 5 alot so I thought Id give it a shot. Wow its pretty amazing and the lag response is insane. I cant really give a great break of the features because Im still learning some but when I say response time is a night and day difference it is. If anyone remembers going from dial up to cable( yes Im that old), this is a great comparison. Ive always heard PC guys brang about skill but its not skill when Im getting a full second or two to look at them before they can shoot me back(fps) in warzone or even simple tdm matches. If youve been on the fence for awhile, get off and get this monitor you wont regret it. If anything goes bad with it I will update my post, but its a night and day difference from my tv( which is top of line gaming tv 3k plus in price) so not a mid tier tv. Amazing monitor

Greater than one weekWorks great for the ps5 and allows 120 fps @1080p. The price may be a little hesitant at first but once you realize that on the market, this is a Ips panel with great color not to mention with fast response times comparable to TN panel monitors but without that washed out look. Makes it great for gaming and if you really want to enjoy a game with high resolution. This gaming monitor allows a 4k render with hdmi 2.0 but of course down scales it to 2k or 1440p resolution at 60 fps. It’s not 4K but the panel and 2k alone is still a fantastic quality to play your games. Very minimal smearing aka ghosting when set at “faster” setting. Wouldn’t recommend “fastest” setting as you will start to see ghosting and playing games like that isn’t ideal. Hope this review helped out. Highly recommend this monitor.

Greater than one weekEDIT: I bought a second 27GL850-B manufactured 7/2021 as used like new (it was brand new in a damaged box, 0 hours power on time). Its great to have matching monitors for work, and it says a lot about the quality of this panel that I bought a second. Pros: Well reviewed panel, Freesync works on Nvidia/Intel now + low framerate compensation means the display doesnt tear below 48 FPS, ICC profiles exist for download (TFT Central), only needed minor tweaks out of box to make the display really pop, panel supports 10 bit, display is light - perfect for VESA mounting. Backlight bleed is minimal, very pleasant surprise. Movies and Youtube look fine on this gaming display, just a shame that 1440p/4k havent began to replace 1080p video as default. Amazon doing monthly payments on this is a great deal. Cons: I had to exchange the first panel I received. First panel had one dead pixel out of the box, and the vertical edges of the display were much dimmer than the rest of the screen on light backgrounds. Replacement panel is fine. USB hub on the monitor is unpowered, limiting what can be plugged into it. Very odd choice by LG to save a few cents on the USB hub, my Logitech G910 keyboard wouldnt even power up connected to it - HDR on this screen is terrible, leave it off. Notes: The USB hub is used for firmware upgrades - keep the cable handy no matter how useless the USB hub is. I upgraded from an Asus ROG Swift PG278QR - that display came with about 5 dead pixels and always looked washed out. It also has a firmware bug that affects the display, and backlight bleed was an issue too. And it even cost more than this LG panel! The LG 27GL850 is a huge upgrade in quality! Watch some reviews before you buy - Hardware Unboxed goes over this display very nicely. This monitor uses DisplayPort 1.4 - you may need to update the firmware of your graphics card to support it or you will not have POST/boot output on the screen. Nvidia has a download for updating older cards - I had a 1080 Ti when I bought my first LG and it was painless to run the upgrade. If you cannot upgrade, you can change the monitor to DP 1.1 or 1.2 via the on screen menu. Im still trying to find the optimal brightness - TFT Central recommends brightness of 23 with a boost to red - it was too dim and way too red, so Im guessing LG has adjusted out-of-the-box calibration on these panels since launching them. To enable 10 bit support, use the Nvidia control panel (or AMDs equivalent) and leave HDR off in Windows. My current display calibration: Gamer 1, Adaptive Sync On, Response Time Fast, Brightness 35, Contrast 70, Gamma Mode 2, Color Temp Custom, RGB all 50, DFC Off, Smart Energy Saving Off. Im using the TFT Central ICC profile in Windows 11.

Greater than one weekI waited until this come back in stock, and snagged it for ~$450. I use it with GSYNC and it works flawlessly. I am the type of person to research, compare and re-research products I buy, especially tech that is expensive. I chose this monitor over the ASUS ROG Swift PG27VQ / PG27VQZ, and a few other GSYNC specific monitors. This is one of the best (if not, then THE best) IPS 1440p 144hz 27-inch gsync compatible gaming monitors available. My room bought the Asus, I mentioned above, and this LG has better color accuracy, and picture quality overall; as well as less black light bleed. The IPS glow is minimal. This monitor is newer than a lot of the Asus panels, and it shows that LG actually cares and has better quality control when it comes to the panel and black light bleed. The GSYNC compatibility is perfect, and un noticeable the it is FreeSync monitor. If I paid $600 for this monitor, I would have still been happy. The fact that I grabbed it for $450, when it was available, purchasing this monitor over everything else was a no-brainer.

> 3 dayI upgraded from an Acer ED273 which I had since August 2019. I liked that old monitor well enough - except it had a backlight flickering problem I could never fix. After plenty of research I decided this one was the adequate upgraded replacment. I ordered it as used - like new from a seller, and got what Im pretty sure was more or less a brand-new monitor, with a very good panel at that. Even lighting and very little backlight bleed - a HUGE improvement from the Acer one. I would of course expect that at roughly $150-$200 more expensive. The colors are beautiful - though the reds are somewhat oversaturated. This monitor does tend to overblow most colors, but doesnt really bother me much. Its only red that looks nutso to me! The 144hz refresh rate and 4k resolution are a treat to the eyes. It was easy to set up and feels sturdy - though I am using a third party desk mount arm rather than the stock stand. The VESA mount seems strong and I looove the control stick for navigating the settings menu - the old Acer one had an INFURIATING control stick that, on several occasions, left me wanting to bite the monitor clean in half. I cant even describe how beautiful and responsive this one is compared to the garbage crap on the Acer ED273! I will be updating this review as monitor use progresses over the years to keep up with wear-and-tear and overall lifetime of the device. I know, initially, I am STOKED to have this beauty! I can hardly wait to really sit and play games on it - I only tested some 4k gameplay video in the mean time, which looked amazing!

> 3 dayAmazing picture and quality out the box. Very crisp. I would rate it a 9.9 out of 10. There is slight ghosting if you set the response rate to Faster in the monitor settings. HOWEVER, I did not find ANY benefit at all with this setting so you are good to leave it on Fast(Default) and there is no ghosting on that option. Not sure if overclocking it 165hz fixes that but I dont need 19 more hertz. Like some reviews have pointed out, the monitor gets recognized by Windows as a sound source despite no speakers but thats a Windows thing I think and the monitor does smudge pretty easily if you touch it. No big deal either. Overall, the monitor is great. I have been on the market for one and have spent a week looking at all the options on Amazon and this one was a great choice. If you are looking for a good IPS monitor, this is it! Will update if anything comes up in the future.

> 3 dayWithin the first few months of owning this monitor I noticed a crack in my screen on the upper right quadrant that wasnt there previously. Im almost certain it was not of my own doing since I dont touch my monitors unless its with a microfiber cloth to clean them, and I dont remember bumping into it with anything either. On further inspection, the crack seems to be almost exactly 6-8 pixels wide, and is completely straight horizontally, like perfectly so, which I think also rules out that I scratched it somehow. Im thinking that maybe one very small component got too hot and the screen cracked there as a result or something, I dont know. Again, I dont touch my monitor and I dont use sharp objects around it either, so I was pretty surprised to see this. At first I thought it was some dead pixels. Some might think such a small crack isnt noticeable in normal use, and sometimes it isnt on darker backgrounds, but on anything lighter though its quite noticeable, like a permanent small hair which you cant wipe off no matter what. Its a bit hard to see in the picture, but there it is.
