10-04-2025We bought this to help hang a 48’ string of lights across our 50’ long backyard. You definitely will need socket wrench for this kit, but that was an easy purchase. We are hoping to keep these lights up year round in our 4-season city, so we look forward to finding out the sturdiness of this set and whether it will withstand all four seasons. Either way, we are so happy with this purchase and you will not be disappointed. It has everything (minus the socket wrench) you need to hang lights, especially for a beginner who would not know how to purchase these items individually!

> 3 daySturdy. Lots of universal parts to make it adaptable. Would buy again. Used to string patio lights from house to trees.

> 3 dayReally nice maple kit for stringing outside lights. No sagging and easy to adjust tension. I had eye-bolts so I used them to attach to my house and a tree instead on the u-shaped clips. Although the clips would seemingly work well. I advice opening the turnbuckles all the way when first installing because its more likely to need tension than slack.

> 3 dayThese have been the biggest paint in the ass. I live in Arizona with Temps upwards of 110. I have to have a sunshade for the dogs and so we use the heavy duty sun sails. I have set this up 3 different times and these stupid P.O.S. clamps have let loose and dropped the sail 3 EFFING TIMES. Idk if its the stupid smooth plastic coating, or the stupid ass design of these. It doesnt matter how many you add, how tight they are, they will fail, so do yourself a favor, go to the hardware store and spend 4 bucks and buy 8 little U shape rope clamps, and throw these stupid pieces of crap in thr trash.

> 3 dayPurchased to use for hanging mosquito curtains on our front porch. Nice set. A bit too much cable but we knew that in advance. Easier than buying all the pieces individually and we can always use the spares elsewhere.

> 3 dayThis kit would be a great value, however there are a few critical components that negate this value. First, the wire rope clamps will not hold unless there is no weight, wind, or tension on the wire. Second, the crimp-on ferrules will not hold either. They are the correct size for the wire rope WITH coating, however the wire rope will slide out of the coating within 24 hours of tensioning the wire. The ferrules are too large to be used with the coating stripped from the ends of the wire rope, which is the only proper way to secure the wire.

Greater than one weekThis kit comes with all the necessary materials to install string lights and it’s great that it all comes in one kit. However, this wire does snap under light pressure. It didn’t last a week. I bought 45ft string lights and it snapped, it could not handle the weight so I had to go out to home depot and buy more wire.

> 3 dayWell made. Heavy duty. I am a 40 year old woman and was able to install this myself to hang curtains in my pavilion to add coziness to my hot tub area. The wire is strong enough to hang and not sag the curtains. I am a nurse by trade, not a mechanic. So there was trial and error during the install. The biggest thing I learned is to keep the turnbuckle open while hanging the wire as tight as possible. Then turn the turnbuckle to make it super tight. Of course this may be common sense for some people but was a learning curve for me. So turnbuckle open, attach anchors, Install wire, cut wire to needed length (leave extra length- you’ll need it when making adjustments) install the clamps to hold wire in place. Tighten turnbuckle. That simple. Very well made. And 150 feet of wire!! For this price ya can’t beat that. Just the wire at my local hardware store was 0.99 per foot. Craziness. I got the whole kit for WAY less than that. Definitely would purchase again.

Greater than one weekIt was easy to install, but the instructions need to be enhanced. The tensioning of the wire is not well explained. The amount of slack that I experienced from the weight of the hanging lights needs to be considered. Overall it looks great!
