Once I learned how to load it into the Litter Genie, it has made scooping waste from the litter box less offensive.

I really like the Litter Genie. It keeps the smell down and fewer trips to the trash can. But boy does it smell when you go to remove the bag. I feel like I need to wear a particle face mask to prevent beathing in toxic fumes. I now add litter box deodorant to each new bag I start. I switched from regular clay and corn type litters to the Tidy Cat Breeze System. Now there no clumps of urine soaked cat litter taking up space in the bags but the contents still smell a litte ripe. I recommend the Litter Genie but just know that it doesnt keep down ALL odors.

I love the litter genie! I’ve been buying a 2pack of refills at walmart for about $12. I saw this for under $6 and was like yes that’s a steal. Plus it has more length than the ones I was purchasing before. I have it on repeat delivery, one pack monthly. I have two cats so I go through it quickly. With this product you don’t have to smell their potties. People always say how they didnt know I had cats until they actually saw them

These work great and are perfect for helping to keep the litter box clean.

Works well at first. The inner trap door (for lack of a better word) gets clogged pretty easily after a few months, making it difficult to get the waste to drop down into the bag without jiggling the whole unit for a few seconds and opening and closing the door, and I do use clumping litter. I wipe down the top (accessible) areas frequently, too, so not quite sure what the issue is. For the price its still worth the purchase.

I like my litter genie. I live in a condo so its nice to have a place thats not my trash for this.. disposal. It doesnt smell, its easy to use and easy to clean. My only complaint is that theres is no marking whatsoever to let you know youre reaching the end of the bag/liner. How has this not been thought of or addressed? Its annoying when I cut off the bag and then pull more down to re-tie and it just ends. Litter Genie... please fix this

Sure the idea is slick. I have watched 3 people try to figure out how to use the Litter Genie refill and watch them have no clue. After head and butt scratching they can make it work. Once you know the tricks...hey it is pretty easy. Next on the agenda is that I dont know what the marketing department was smoking when they came up with cartridge lasts up to two months for one cat. Boy that is some creative marketing. My wife and I are still arguing about it but we *think* we got 5 refills out of the refill cartridge. Our one big girl kitty can do some major damage on that in about 3 weeks. OK so we get less than HALF the advertised amount. Side note and not included in the star rating is the fact that the litter genie we purchased will fall apart when you pick it up. There is a snap latch toward the bottom that is supposed to latch. Good luck with that. It doesnt engage with the slot at all. We checked the local store and all theirs were just like that. I have some experience with molded parts in consumer electronics and can honestly say these parts have problems and the company just got shipped them out the door. Quality control I think not. Hooray for us! So all in all while the whole shebang is a great idea the base is poorly executed and the greed glands were on high when they priced the refill cartridges. These are plastic sleeves folks not even zip lock bags. The point is you are paying an enormous amount for a sleeve to carry turds! I figure about $1.25 per time you empty the base. Yee haw! I will pursue another solution but this will have to do for now. Ironically I sent my wife out to get the competitors model and this is the one she brought home. Our neighbors have another brand and it works MUCH better. Dont know about lifespan of the refills or the price so keep that in mind. Also keep in mind that you get to tie a knot in the bottom of the bag to start using and a knot in the top of the bag to dispose. If you are a micro knot ninja you may also get more uses per refill. If you are normal maybe not so many. If the base were well made and the bags lasted about twice as long for the money I would have been happy.

Other than the fact that we had to go on-line to find out how to first use the bags with the Litter Genie Plus, that product with a replacement pack constitutes a good system. This replacement pack fits both the Litter Genie & Litter Genie Plus. The pack is actually one long tube of litter bag type of material that is tied off to create a bag, and later cut whenever you want to discard some cat feces. Then more is pulled down and re-tied, with that process being repeated until the entire package is empty. When starting a new replacement pack you should handle the material very gently after breaking the tab. I use the Genie mainly for feces, only occasionally including clumped litter. Sometimes you have to jiggle the Litter Genie container or push the cat feces down with the scooper while holding the movable tray out, but other than that, it couldnt be easier, and there is virtually no odor when the Litter Genie/Plus is closed. I keep a spare refill pack on hand for convenience. Granted the price has gone up, and it really could be a little cheaper, but still, I prefer the convenience of the pack to attempts to hack the system by trying to use large garbage bags, because the Litter Genie refill packs are strong enough, and with one cat (Chloe) lasts us for weeks.

These are made well. I have to take them out every 4-6 days since my male produces grapefruit sized potty balls compared to my other cats. I ran out of bags and tried to substitute with 13 gal bags and, although it worked, the material is just not the same so it will leave a scent inside the genie and you also have to worry about tearing. Certain brands of the 13 gal fit really well in the genie and some will not close properly. After trial and error I just decided to repurchase these packs. I know the price adds up especially if you have a crapper like mine but I do like these much better. Of course they can make them better but thats probably not going to happen. By this I mean wasted material with the knot deal and not being able to utilize the whole thing. Those that own the genie will know what I mean.

Same quality I buy at local stores but, a little pricey buying online.
