Litter Genie Refill (1 Pack)

> 3 dayPrior to buying the Litter Genie Cat Litter Disposal System my wife and I resorted to saving plastic bags and eventually buying them by the roll. What we hated was how we had to immediately take the garbage out or somehow the next morning the whole house would stink no matter how tight we tied the bag. With the Little Genie, we simply scoop the litter into the Genie. When it fills (usually about 1-1.5 weeks) we simply open the case, pull some slack, use the built in cutter, tie a knot and take it out. Then we tie one more knot and its good to go for another week. We just added this to our subscribe and save so will be getting these automatically going forward.

> 3 dayThese litter genie refills definitely work as planned. Super easy to peel off the plastic tab, tie a knot on the bottom and pop in the genie and you’re ready to scoop. Plastic is durable so the litter stays contained and never rips open. Before my litter genie, I had to search for plastic grocery bags that didn’t have holes.... not an easy task anymore.

> 3 dayThe Good News: Litter boxes still must be scooped frequently - nothing changes with that part - but, using the Litter Genie, it isnt necessary to carry the soiled litter to the trash immediately. This is a big plus for me, as multiple daily trips to the trash room 2 flights downstairs can now be avoided. The soiled cat litter scent and the less than appealing visual mess is all contained in a fairly decent looking contraption. The plastic disposal liners are super heavy weight so no problems at all with them leaking or tearing or in any way not containing the used litter. Once you figure out how to do it ( the directions could be more clear) tearing off the liner when it is full and pulling out more is pretty easy. It works like a sausage casing that you knot at one end, fill up with used litter, then tear off and knot off the top end when it is full. You pull out additional length that you knot off again and start over. You get 3 full sausages from each refill cartridge. For me with 2 cats, that is about 18 days per cartridge. The Less Than Good News: The refill cartridges arent cheap; this is going to get expensive over time. The used clumped litter does not easily fall down into the lower compartment as the opening is rather narrow. The whole contraption needs to be cleaned as soiled litter gets stuck around the edges where it is dropped in . Bottom Line: I like it and I will continue to use it. I clean the contraption each week when I discard the liner, and it isnt that big of deal. Buying the refills on Amazon in quantity to qualify for free shipping helps to bring the price down. Also, the Litter Genie is available at Bed, Bath and Beyond and you can use the coupons they send out all the time. Price is better than Pet Co.

> 3 dayWe have two cats and the litter genie has changed our life. One liner refill lasts us more than a month. More like month and a half depending on how full of it our cats get. Lol

> 3 dayThe refills that I’ve received so far come in good condition, and after setting it up a couple of times it eventually gets easier to get rid of and replace. My only complaint is how pricey they can be. 1 refill currently runs for $12.99 and 3 at $22.46 (not counting taxes and fees), but that’s the price to pay for making litter cleanup a bit more convenient. Aside from that, it has never failed to work as intended!

> 3 dayThe Litter Genie is the best invention ever! These bags are pricey but they last a long time. Keeps the smell away. I have two cats and we change the bag about every 10 days or so. Will continue purchasing these bags. It was always sold out at Target, so now I just order it here on Amazon.

> 3 dayI used to dump the dirty cat litter in a bag and then throw it out when it got full. Im in a wheelchair, so I cant get my trash to the dumpster every day. That litter smelled awful and the bag was heavy! I bought the litter genie and I love it! Its so easy to use! The refill fits right in and lasts a while. You just pull the bag down and tie the end. I have to use the refill more often because I have 2 large cats & 2 litter boxes, but for the average user the refill should last a long time. When youre through with one refill, just throw it away and put the next one in.

> 3 dayThis is better than my old system of simply throwing scooped litter in the trash. The product keeps loads of kitty litter in a bucket. When you toss the new litter in, you pull a lever and the litter is deposited in the lower container of the bucket. I like not using the regular trash, but think that if each deposit were sealed off before it reaching the bucket, this system would be more sanitary. Putting the unit together took some thought and trial and error. Does this company have an online video of assembly? Also, when the bucket is full, you have to cut the top of the bag and tie it off; this is gross, and you better have carefully tied the bottom of the bag, or else. This isnt a bad product, but it needs some tweaking.

> 3 dayIm so impressed with these bags. The only thing I dont like about it is that you have to cut it and retie it as you go along. I can suck that up for the odor control. I fostered a litter of kittens who were very sick with the smelliest poops on the planet and that is when I bought the litter genie and the refill bags. Worth every penny. Now that the kittens have all been adopted, I am still using these bags for my 1 cat.
