Sometimes I have trouble finding the beginning of the bags when you take the plastic strip off. I think the last one I purchased was just packaged incorrectly. And so a lot was wasted in that refill. Price is a little high for what you get.

I like this product because there is no smell. It’s easy to clean litter pans I wish it was a little bigger because I have 3 cat pans to clean.

This is a poopsack that fits in the litter genie. It is a sack what that holds poop. It holds poop effectively, therefore it is an excellent product. It does exactly what it is mean to do, which is to be a sack that contains poop.

Against my better judgement my wife bought a Litter Genie. The television ads finally got to her, and I have to admit to a certain curiosity myself. Had I seen one in person before she purchased it, and done a little further research on the subject, I may have said no. Its fairly convenient to use, but with our three cats, fills up quickly. And we go through these bag refills pretty quick too. At $7.50 - $10 a pop it adds up pretty fast. Add to that the last part of the bag is not really usable and you end up wasting it and its even less practical. The Litter Genie itself is made of cheap plastic and you must be careful when hinging it back together to get it lined up properly. Also, the funnel as they call it, has a clip that must be released to replace the bag refill but is impossible to open without a screwdriver or other tool/device. That said, it does keep the used litter smell to a minimum, and is generally a good idea. But somebody is getting rich from these products.

I love my liter genie bags! Worth the price

I have two cats who are too prolific with their waste; consequently, a convenient disposal option is necessary. The cat genie system is exactly what I needed and I have two, one for each cat box. I have put the refills on automatic reorder, so I conveniently receive the refills just-in-time saving money and storage space. The refills allow for storing cat waste without odor until time to take out to the garbage. The built-in cutter in the genie allows for a custom-sized disposal bag each time the waste is removed, thereby eliminating wasted bags. While I spend more on this product than I did when I used plastic groceries bags to clean the cat box, this allows me to use reusable bags at the grocery which is more environmentally friendly without concern that I am not stocking up with grocery bags for litter disposal. I am grateful to the fellow cat lover who recommended this product to me!

The Good News: Litter boxes still must be scooped frequently - nothing changes with that part - but, using the Litter Genie, it isnt necessary to carry the soiled litter to the trash immediately. This is a big plus for me, as multiple daily trips to the trash room 2 flights downstairs can now be avoided. The soiled cat litter scent and the less than appealing visual mess is all contained in a fairly decent looking contraption. The plastic disposal liners are super heavy weight so no problems at all with them leaking or tearing or in any way not containing the used litter. Once you figure out how to do it ( the directions could be more clear) tearing off the liner when it is full and pulling out more is pretty easy. It works like a sausage casing that you knot at one end, fill up with used litter, then tear off and knot off the top end when it is full. You pull out additional length that you knot off again and start over. You get 3 full sausages from each refill cartridge. For me with 2 cats, that is about 18 days per cartridge. The Less Than Good News: The refill cartridges arent cheap; this is going to get expensive over time. The used clumped litter does not easily fall down into the lower compartment as the opening is rather narrow. The whole contraption needs to be cleaned as soiled litter gets stuck around the edges where it is dropped in . Bottom Line: I like it and I will continue to use it. I clean the contraption each week when I discard the liner, and it isnt that big of deal. Buying the refills on Amazon in quantity to qualify for free shipping helps to bring the price down. Also, the Litter Genie is available at Bed, Bath and Beyond and you can use the coupons they send out all the time. Price is better than Pet Co.

I love the litter genie for keeping the scent out. Its easy to use. At first I was confused that the refill bags werent bags but more of a tube, and I worried that the knot wouldnt hold. But it always has, and its easier to tie off than I expected. The system works well. The only downside is the price. Its kind of expensive for poop removal, I wish it were a dollar or two cheaper.
