My wife bought some string lights to decorate her home office, but they dont have an on/off switch. They were plugged into a power strip under the desk and hard to get to. After plugging them into the adapter, now she has an easy switch to turn them on and off. We have a few different scenarios we can see this being useful, like the aquarium lights in our fish tanks. Definitely plan to get more of these just as soon as we figure out how many we need!

I started using this type of product to control my holiday lights. Then began thinking about the ease and control of lights when walking into other rooms throughout the house, so purchased this to try. Love the convenience! The hardest thing about using this was...where to put the remote!!

I was looking for a remote that doesnt require the remote to be the same room as the plug and this works extremely well. The plug itself is quite small and doesnt take up a lot of space. Would recommend, especially with how hard it was to find a remote that doesnt rely on the IR sensor.

I love it! Its compact size and bi-stable operation are perfect for my needs. To achieve its small size, the device uses a bi-stable (a.k.a. latching) relay. A bi-stable relay has two stable states. It uses power only during the instant it is being switched on or off. A conventional relay uses power the whole time it is in the on state. A bi-stable relay allows the capacitors in the power supply circuit to be much smaller, making the devices smaller size possible. All tiny smart switches will have a bi-stable relay for this reason, but some will probably reset the relay to the off state when powered up. Fortunately for me, this unit does not do that. I solved the issue of the device being a little bit too big by moving it to the other socket on the outlet. That allowed me to plug a normal-sized 15 amp grounded plug into the other socket. Someone complained that the magnet that holds the transmitter to its base is too weak. Thats true, but I solved that by using a piece of Velcro-like 3M Command Strip to hold the unit to the wall, not using the base at all. The Command Strip can be easily removed from the wall without damage if you follow the removal instructions.

I like this remote control outlet and I thought it would be better than a more bulb one I have. However, I can only plug a small cord into the other outlet...this device encroaches on surrounding outlets just enough that I got both this and a power strip. Kinda bummed. It sticks out of the wall a lot too.

Like most, I used this remote switch for a hard to reach light. It was easy to install and so far it’s working great. If I had to say anything negative it would be the diameter of the receiver. I find it a little too large. Overall great product.

I have a floor lamp that is situated behind my recliner. The lamp came with a foot switch to turn it on & off (kind of hard to do when its behind the recliner... Plugged it into this little guy & bam I can turn my lamp off while sitting in my recliner (I did not install the switch on to the wall - I keep it on my end table so its easily accessible while Im in my chair). Will definitely buy another one as soon as I can figure where I need one in the house :)

I have a storage closet that had the old fashioned pull-chain ceiling light in it, which I did not like at all. It would be a lot of work and expense to have an electrician wire it to a wall switch. I had purchased not one but eventually two of the pricey GE brand remote switches. The first one failed in about a years time, and the second one eventually failed as well. (After replacing the battery in both thinking that was the problem) They were junk. I bought this and it has worked beautifully and has a much better design. The screw-in light socket is shorter (the GE socket was quite long and after adding a light bulb it hung down lower in the closet and the bulb would get bumped.) The on/off buttons on this are a simple light press with your finger instead of the rocker type on the GE product. They are more electronic than mechanical and seem to work much more efficiently. It gets a lot of use as I am in and out of this area a lot. The round disc type of switch on this product is a bit different. So, I bought a metal switch plate at Home Depot and the switch, which has magnets on the back, sticks to that. It also comes with some adhesive mounting squares, which I could have just stuck on the wall, but Im not a fan of those. This works perfectly and looks nice on the wall, like an upscale, designer wall switch. It is also very easy to change out the disc battery when the time comes. The back just rotates off. I have since purchased two of the remote plug version, for some other areas around my home where I just wanted a convenient on/off wall switch to control some lighting. I like that each one has a unique code so they dont interfere with each other at all. The remotes also have great range. All in all, this is an excellent product that I would highly recommend.

Easy to set up, and it is working how I expected it to work. The wall plug piece is a little big and can potentially block another 3 prong plug being plugged in on a standard 2 plug outlet, but another 2 prong plug can be plugged in unobstructed. Its a small gripe for me but could be a potential deal breaker for others.

I bought two of these for my bed side lamps and they are amazing. My bed side lamps had the switch half way through the cord so it made it difficult to turn on and off the lamps while laying in bed. These have completely gotten rid of that problem, they work perfectly and can be placed right on my night stands. They are so convenient, were thinking of getting more for other appliances. Would definitely recommend this product!
