> 3 dayBought a dozen of these as gifts for our top clients. I already had one. Ive not owned a decent flashlight before and had been tempted to buy a multi-D-cell MagLite before but I expected the batteries were a little expensive to chew through. When I saw that they had released a quality LED model I bought two immediately - one for the house and one for the garage. The beam has a reasonable focus range. I can light up a building 300m away with ease. If you want a quality flashlight, look no further.

> 3 dayI love my Maglite. It super stout, has a nice weight and the LED is a huge plus. Before I had a regular A cell. Compared to my LED Chinese lights it had nothing on them. Im back with this D cell Maglite and very happy with it. Very bright and stout. I also got the Maglite mounts for my rig- it came with 2 filters, a lens protector and a dont roll away thing. You wont be disappointed with this American made beast.

> 3 dayIt appears that Maglite as of right now are lagging behind in technology due to the lack of modern flashlights in their product lineup. Such flashlights would include features like: -Rechargeable & removable lithium or nickel packs -Steady light supply via current, temp & voltage regulation controls -Internal power plant It comes with a bright LED light but you STILL have to smack it on the bottom to correct the internal mis-contact to restore its brightness. The charge using Energizer & Duracell batteries doesnt last that long; It begins to dimm quickly! Very disappointed with Maglite, however an awesome American company. Other things noticed - After about 5 minutes of use LED will begin to lose its lumens (as if tired). This is common with high tensity LED technology for some reason.

Greater than one weekOutstanding product! The brightest 2 cell flashlight Ive seen. Can change from a spot to a flood beam. Its built like a tank, and appears to be thoroughly water proof. Have not had it long enough to assess battery life but should be good with the LED bulb. My grandkids will probably inherit this flashlight. Have already recommended to a friend.

The Garage
> 3 dayI have (had) 3 Maglite 3-cell flashlights. I ordered a new one today to replace one that Ive had since 1987. That one was still working fine but I made the mistake of putting cheaper batteries in it and they leaked and swelled up so that they were hopelessly stuck in place. Lesson learned the hard way. I pounded that thing mercilessly trying to get the bad batteries out. They wouldnt budge but the Maglite took the beating without a scratch or dent. The Maglites never disappoint and never let me down. Those batteries not so much. Get yourself several Maglites and always use the best batteries and youll be good to go no matter what.
