> 24 hourIt comes with a Quick Start Guide. To get complete instructions, download the manual from the Magnasonic web site. Make sure to get the manual for the MGUC500. Pretty good unit, but I wish it had a heater (I knew it didnt when I bought it). Also, the downloaded manual states that the plastic basket in it absorbs 30% of cleaning energy. So for better results, clean without the basket. I wish there was a better way to drain the small tank. And it has to have a minimum of 250 ml of water, plus the MAX amount is molded in the basket and is very hard to read. Update (1/24/23): I still gave it 4 stars, not so much for the unit, but for the customer service. It worked fine until it didnt. In early January, it just quit. Looking at some other reviews, I saw some mention of their 1 year warranty and how good their customer service was. So I wrote them an email and, after the rep talked me thru some simple troubleshooting, they shipped me another one at no charge. Not even shipping. I got it today, and it works fine. I suspect there may be a duty cycle restriction, to allow it to cool down. However I didnt see one in the documentation. The case is made of plastic with no vent holes, and is rated for 35 watts. To clean an item, hot water (140 degrees F, some say) is recommended. And the tank is stainless steel. That generates heat, and theres no way to vent it. Something to consider. But when it works, it works quite well. And the customer service is very good.

> 24 hourI have used industrial ultrasonic cleaners for a couple of decades when I worked in R&D labs, but never had a home unit. Browsed these units on Amazon and selected this one due to the good reviews. It came today and I gave it a real challenge. I had a felt tip marker that uses fountain pen ink that had dried up a year or two ago and had not been cleaned out until last weekend. The ink (Noodlers Kung Te-Cheng) was like blue tar and it took many rinsings and soakings in pen flush and warm water to remove it from the open barrel. The grip section has numerous fins inside that control the ink flow to the replaceable felt tip. No way to flush this out, but I had soaked it in pen flush for some days, and even a bleach solution to no effect. Since the grip is clear I could see what was happening to it in the Magnasonic. Put a cup of warm water with a squirt of ammonia and Dawn detergent into the bath and in went the pen section. Wow! a cloud of ink came out big time. A couple of minutes the 8oz water was deep blue. Replaced the cleaning solution and the pen section was cleaner. Repeated two or three times and finally I got all the ink out of the section. Could never have gotten all the ink out without an ultrasonic cleaner. Then, just to see, I dropped the replaceable felt tip into the solution. This consists of a plastic holder that fits snugly into the grip, a tiny felt bullet tip and a 1 inch long tiny tube (1/16 inch diameter). It was filled with dried ink. Well, the tiny tip floated in the solution and blue ink boiled out of both ends. A few minutes and it was completely cleaned of ink! So in went a fountain pen nib/feed/grip section that had been well cleaned out with pen flush using an ear syringe until no more ink residue came out. But, in the Magnasonic a gray cloud erupted from both ends of the section and continued for a couple of minutes and stopped. Now this pen section was cleaned to normal standards, but the Magnasonic removed all the minute residue from the nib and feed which would have been important if I had wanted to use a lighter color ink in it. Then I cleaned a gold ring with a sardonyx intaglio cut stone. The back of the ring under the stone is open and collects body oils. Immediately a cloud came out of the ring and in a minute it was clean. In went a pair of eyeglasses (Dawn detergent only, no ammonia just to be on the safe side). A cloud came out from the nose pieces. In a minute I rinsed them off and wiped them with a clean microfiber cloth. Beautifully cleaned. I am amazed at how well this machine cleans. I got the Blitz cleaner but have not used it, saving it for jewelry. Remember, this machine WILL NOT POLISH OR REMOVE TARNISH. But it cleans off dirt, oil grease, and residue wonderfully well, getting deep into micro crevices. The instructions say to start with water, but water will only remove loose stuff. Several drops of dishwasher detergent will remove all kinds of gunk. I am glad I got this Magnasonic Ultrasonic Cleaner. I wish the lid came off as I like to watch the cleaning action and you only need it on to keep the chamber clean. I rinsed and dried it before I put the machine away. Easy to use, one button starts, one button stops, one lets you cycle through 180, 280, 380, 480, and 90 second cleaning cycles. The stop button lets you stop and restart the cycle you were using. When unplugged it will reset to 180 seconds the next time it is plugged in. Nice basket and a watch band fixture to clean WATER PROOF watches (not water resistant). I also cleaned my small Victorinox Swiss Army knife in it to get the pocket lint, etc. out.

> 24 hourThis machine makes diamonds sparkle like they just came from the jeweler. Did a decent job on my gold chain, but still needed to be polished afterward. It doesnt really clean silver at all. Gets the stuff out of the chain, but does not bring back that new polished silver look. You still have to clean it with silver cleaner. OK for the money.

> 24 hourMy husband and I always wanted a jewelry cleaner. So when I looked at the reviews for this one I knew it would be perfect. We first used it with just water it cleaned but not as good as I wanted it to. Then we cleaned our jewelry a second time with the solution and the jewelry came out super shiny. All in all 10 out of 10.

> 24 hourWorks well with jewelry but my experience is not great for cleaning glasses. It will loosen any electronic plating on the metal frame and remove the different coating on your lenses. If you really want to use this to clean your glasses, try it on an old pair of glasses first or use soap and water and an old toothbrush.

> 24 hourI purchased this for my mothers Christmas gift. I had experience using the industrial versions and can say this works 90% as well. The first item I tested was on my moms metal watch band. I had to hold the watch itself (submerging the watch can damage it or break the water tight seal). The water began to turn grey then black removing all of the oils it had collected from her skin (quite disgustingly awesome to watch). I needed to eventually replace the water with clean water and run it through again. All that was needed is a bit of dishwashing liquid and water. I prefer heating some water in the microwave (add a bit of rubbing alcohol if you like as well to help cut the oils). Remember afterwards to clean the unit. Over time it will collect salt from the water where the metal pan meets the housing. I found the lid is really just there to cut down the noise. I preferred leaving it open as it would be one less thing to clean or collect residue. Next I dropped in a few rings and necklaces (silver and gold). It worked like a charm!! Simply rinse and wipe afterwards. I suggest using a toothbrush for stubborn areas such as intricate rings or areas where there is excessive buildup of grime. Avoid using on pearls. Be aware that jewelry with stone/diamond settings should be secure as this could cause them to loosen and fall out. So you want to check to make sure the jewels are still attached before dumping the water down your sink. This is not for fake/laminated/painted costume jewelry as it will make the coating come off. I used it on some glasses. You will be amazed how much grime they collect (about as much as the watch band). We use these in the optical business. They will not harm your lens coating. Your nose bad will become much cleaner as well…but if they are too green then have them replaced at an optical shop. I can tell you from experience that with glossy plastic frames that it can peel the glossy coating leaving places with a matte finish. There was one especially bad silver rope. It was more tarnished than dirty. Sure, this cleaned it. Just be aware that it isn’t designed to remove tarnish (you will need to polish tarnish by hand with a special cleaner & cloth after cleaning with this machine to remove tarnish). So needless to say the silver rope became clean but was still essentially black afterwards (yes it was genuine silver). I personally find it a joy watching items that you think couldn’t possibly be that full of grime create this cloud of nastiness. It makes me want to add fresh warm water and dawn and find what else to clean. My cell phone case? Sure! My grandpa’s nasty Case pocket knife? No problem!! Word of warning (again from experience)…it’s not going to harm you putting your fingers inside briefly. But don’t do for long to feel the tickle. It will pull out all of the natural oils from your skin causing extreme dryness and will make your nails brittle & crack. It can even rupture the capillaries in your finger tips making them red and bruised. *The unit is much smaller then appears in the photo. The opening is about the length of a pair of eyeglasses*

> 24 hourIve used one of these for years so this is a replacement. Our last one lasted 10 years so I have confidence in their quality. I dont use jewelry cleaner. To the water, I just add a little Dawn soap and a quarter cup or so of ammonia. Everything turns out so clean every time!

> 24 hourIt does a great job with surface stains and cleans it very well. The only gripe is that when you have fabric stuck in the jewelry like my chain, it cant pull it out, you have to pull it out manually yourself.
