Works well with jewelry but my experience is not great for cleaning glasses. It will loosen any electronic plating on the metal frame and remove the different coating on your lenses. If you really want to use this to clean your glasses, try it on an old pair of glasses first or use soap and water and an old toothbrush.

This machine does the job it is designed for and does it extremely well. However, it is too big and clumsy for my liking. Filling and emptying are not ideal, in my opinion. It takes up a large footprint on the countertop and in storage. I like to clean my glasses quite often, so it is rarely put away. I do like to use it for other items, like my jewelry. It works great! Ive been very happy with the cleaning results so far. I recommend if you have the space for it.

Just had to add to the positive reviews of this great little device! I wasnt sure, at first, if it was worth it, even at the discounted price, since it sounds a bit gimmicky, the whole ultrasonic cleaning thing, but thats whats great about Amazon, is reading the experiences of others, so I gave it a try, because I have eyeglasses that constantly need cleaning of course, plus I have a few watches that I wasnt really wanting to pay a jeweler to clean and polish. I purchased Blitz Gem and Jewelry Cleaner along with this, and thats what I used. The machine worked GREAT!!! Put in the water, put in some cleaning solution, put in my item, shut the lid and hit the button, which has options for how long you want it to clean, and it counts down and shuts off when its done. Easy breezy! Results were downright unexpectedly awesome! My eyeglasses have NEVER been this clean and I now do this deep clean once a week, and it makes it much easier during the week when just cleaning the lenses, since this deep clean makes them look BRAND NEW and gets all the grubby stuff (sorry, gross maybe, I know) off of every crevice where lens cleaning cant reach, so no smears now when Im trying to clean the lenses. I was honestly very surprised, since it doesnt appear that much is happening. You hear a noise, the water gets warmer inside, and you can see the water start to get slightly murky as dirt comes off your item and into the water, but wow, pull out the item and you sure can see a HUGE difference in cleanliness and its clear this device is doing its job. I did my regular glasses, and my sunglasses, and theyve never looked better, seriously! I next did a few watches, and for sure this is my new go to device for cleaning. Watches looked fantastic, and every nook and cranny was clean and shiny. Again, looked brand new, just like my glasses. And, if you just want to do the bracelet of the watch (lets say the watch itself is not waterproof) you can use the provided plastic arch to keep the watch face out of the liquid. And of course it also has the basket, if you had small stuff to clean, to lift the stuff out before dumping out the liquid. I would agree with others on the one drawback that you do have to take care in dumping it out. Would be great if it had a removable inside container, but it doesnt, and no pour spout. The cleaning basket is cool, works well, and comes in handy to take stuff out before you dump it, but you have to physically pick up and dump the entire machine to dump the water/solution out and my only worry would be, if it was done in a rush or done sloppily (especially because it has no pour spout or anything to help make dumping it out a bit easier), it seems liquid could perhaps spill into the machine itself, especially along the sides where the plastic parts meet (spilled water could certainly get inside). Or, just not holding it tight enough and you could drop the whole thing and maybe damage it. But, ones Ive seen with a removable inner container are more pricey, and not as well reviewed, so I was willing to put up with this minor inconvenience, and, thus far, taking care in emptying it, there hasnt been any issues. Just get near a sink, determine which way youre going to dump it, get a good grip (doesnt weigh much, even with liquid inside -- holds maybe a cup, or a bit more, of liquid, is my best guess) and give it the heave ho to quickly turn it into the sink so its a straight, clean dump of the water/solution. For a mere forty bucks it is well worth it, for sure! Just the ability to clean items so thoroughly, at home, whenever you want or need to, is spectacular and Im sold for sure on the power of ultrasonic cleaning. No trips to the jeweler means this will certainly pay for itself in a short period of time. I also tried a bit of diluted, mild dish soap, and that worked as well, although the jewelry cleaning solution seems tailor made for the job at hand. I just wanted to see if the solution did a better job than regular soap, and it seemed to, so Id advise a jewelry cleaning solution -- but even with just soap it still cleaned better than a hand washed effort in the sink, so this truly does what it says! Its honestly not something I ever wouldve considered buying, until coming across it when looking for a watch, and then reading reviews of it, but Im really glad I did get it, and thanks Amazon reviewers for sharing your experiences! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

I bought this April 1, 2022. It just died today, April 17, 2023. A little over a year of service at weekly intervals. With the right compound, it does a fantastic job of clearing the crud and dead skin cells out of my watches. It died after a year, but for the price, who cares? Ill buy another one and consider them disposable.

I purchased this for my mothers Christmas gift. I had experience using the industrial versions and can say this works 90% as well. The first item I tested was on my moms metal watch band. I had to hold the watch itself (submerging the watch can damage it or break the water tight seal). The water began to turn grey then black removing all of the oils it had collected from her skin (quite disgustingly awesome to watch). I needed to eventually replace the water with clean water and run it through again. All that was needed is a bit of dishwashing liquid and water. I prefer heating some water in the microwave (add a bit of rubbing alcohol if you like as well to help cut the oils). Remember afterwards to clean the unit. Over time it will collect salt from the water where the metal pan meets the housing. I found the lid is really just there to cut down the noise. I preferred leaving it open as it would be one less thing to clean or collect residue. Next I dropped in a few rings and necklaces (silver and gold). It worked like a charm!! Simply rinse and wipe afterwards. I suggest using a toothbrush for stubborn areas such as intricate rings or areas where there is excessive buildup of grime. Avoid using on pearls. Be aware that jewelry with stone/diamond settings should be secure as this could cause them to loosen and fall out. So you want to check to make sure the jewels are still attached before dumping the water down your sink. This is not for fake/laminated/painted costume jewelry as it will make the coating come off. I used it on some glasses. You will be amazed how much grime they collect (about as much as the watch band). We use these in the optical business. They will not harm your lens coating. Your nose bad will become much cleaner as well…but if they are too green then have them replaced at an optical shop. I can tell you from experience that with glossy plastic frames that it can peel the glossy coating leaving places with a matte finish. There was one especially bad silver rope. It was more tarnished than dirty. Sure, this cleaned it. Just be aware that it isn’t designed to remove tarnish (you will need to polish tarnish by hand with a special cleaner & cloth after cleaning with this machine to remove tarnish). So needless to say the silver rope became clean but was still essentially black afterwards (yes it was genuine silver). I personally find it a joy watching items that you think couldn’t possibly be that full of grime create this cloud of nastiness. It makes me want to add fresh warm water and dawn and find what else to clean. My cell phone case? Sure! My grandpa’s nasty Case pocket knife? No problem!! Word of warning (again from experience)…it’s not going to harm you putting your fingers inside briefly. But don’t do for long to feel the tickle. It will pull out all of the natural oils from your skin causing extreme dryness and will make your nails brittle & crack. It can even rupture the capillaries in your finger tips making them red and bruised. *The unit is much smaller then appears in the photo. The opening is about the length of a pair of eyeglasses*
