Makita DML801 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless 12 L.E.D. Flashlight, Flashlight Only, Black

I really liked this light when I got it. It gave out plenty of light and the 2 levels of brightness was great. The lower level of light was usually sufficient for what was needed and the battery lasted longer at that setting. Then one day working in the shop it fell off the bench and the top snapped right off. The light still works but is held together by the internal wire. So I guess I am a little disappointed in the construction of this light. I mean it is a tool and tools are used in a rough environment but this is too fragile for a work environment.

The lamp looks ok, but the light on its own IS NOT BRIGHT like other cheaper lamps. Not even the first click which is the brighter is not too bright, so if you are looking for a bright light get another one. I had a cheaper hyper tough light that was much brighter

Excellent product

Ive invested about $3000 in Makita 18V LXT tools and batteries...so getting accessories like this light was a no-brainer. Received it today and was rather disappointed with how low profile the LED lighting element is...just seems too flimsy for jobsite or automotive use. I also have a DeWalt 20V LED light and that is absolutely wonderful. Im fearing the Makita might be cheaping out on stuff now.

Great flashlight, improvement over previous model.

This is the third or fourth one of these I have purchased - two for myself and two gifts. The price has come down substantially from a few years ago. Of course you need Makita batteries and charger, but if you buy lots of Makita battery powered items like I do, youre good. I can get about 12 hours of continuous light from one charge, and probably more if I used lower power setting. Unlike a hand-held flashlight, this one sits firmly on a heavy base, and the head twists and turns in virtually any direction. So no need for a third hand when you are working in dark area - can also hang it by built-in hook. Plenty of light - cant count the under-sink times Ive used it. Sometimes I use it as a light booster on my workbench for close work - Li-ion batteries charge in less than an hour, so with two of them no problemo.

very versatile light, it is used in my plumbing business all day, it fits in so many different angles due to the adjustable head, and it will last a lng time on one battery. Go Makita!
