I bought this thing after trying lubricant on my old impeller. I had no success in making my old one quiet down. I had it about 2 years I guess. I installed this one and the difference is amazing! I be if I added a little lube I wouldnt hear anything but water. Worked perfect in my Emporer 400. Highly recommend this for anyone with noise problems.

Have a Marineland Emperor 400 that was rattling loudly. Inspected the impeller and noticed it was worn and had some slop in it. Purchased this and BLAMMO! No more rattling! Just a nice water flow sound...ahhh....

Replaced broken (and very noisy) impeller on Emperor 400 filter. Compared to what we had, the noise level was reduced significantly. No complains so far.

My new Emperor Filter was very noisy, this replacement part fixed the problem.
