Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Nintendo Switch

I was already sold when the port was announced. I wasnt going to keep playing the Wii U for long, and the online community would probably go down. So I pre-ordered this game as soon as I was able to, and after playing it for a few hours, its the same great experience I enjoyed on Wii U, but if you can believe it, they somehow made it even better. First off, Im actually surprised at how clean and crisp this game looks. I do not remember the Wii U version POPPING out of my screen like the Switch version does. It could be my 4K TV, idk, but man. The game is gorgeous and smooth. Gameplay is the same, which is great, but as I was racing and drifting, I noticed my Sparks turn purple. They added another GOT DANG DRIFT BOOST IM SWEATIN, NOOBS BE WARNED WHEN I HOP ONLINE AND PREPARE TO GET CREAMED. I had no idea beforehand that they were doing that. I was excited. Little things like that, alongside the inclusion of more characters, a proper battle mode, and more make this purchase worth it. If you got the funds I say its a no brainer, but otherwise I definitely recommend picking this up if/when it drops in price.

It does seem less daunting to ride on the edge of a track as it is almost impossible to fall or lose ground. The danger of that made it somehow more exciting.

Pre-ordered from Amazon for the Switch, and its our favorite game, so far. Not going to lie, MARIO nostalgia runs big in this family, and even the next generation is already a big MARIO fan. All the great aspects of the classic MARIO Kart games have been preserved. The battles, the races, the ability to edge out your opponents with banana peels, turtle shells or a good old fashioned side swipe. There are tons of classic Nintendo characters to chose from, as well as courses from other Nintendo franchises. Lets just say Link for Zelda is a favorite for one of the kids. As parents, we enjoy battling each other in some good, healthy competition. Oh, I should mention the graphics look great on our tv, too! My only complaint is more to do with the game system than the game. Initially we played the game with a pro controller and the joy con L/R controllers locked into its base to make it work like a pro. The left joy con kept shorting out like it was having an interference problem. We had to ditch the pro controller and each use one of the tiny Joy Cons (I used the left and husband used the right). It fixed the issue, but they are so tiny they arent as fun to hold like that. However, I have noticed the L joy com joy stick act a little funny with other games, so Im not docking a star as it may be more of a Switch issue. I have read about other Switch owners having a similar problem. My advice - if you can afford the pro controllers at the hefty $69.99 a piece price tag, buy two of those to play this game.

Mario Kart is a must have for any Nintendo gaming console. You just need to have this if you have a family. You dont get bored, you do get a lot content from this. You will never go wrong with getting this.

I bought this as a gift for my son and it’s just as fun as when I played on N64. Great quality, no funny business.

I am not a gamer, but I love playing Mario Kart. Even if I get my character handed to me when I get worst place, because of getting stomped by my husband, its a fantastic game. We purchased the Switch and Mario Kart and on Christmas morning, it was game on. Fun for all ages. Nothing negative to say. Grew up playing the SNES mario kart. Its come a long way. Highly recommend.

MK 8 is easily the best of all MK. These characters. These graphics. Boom

Bought this along with the Switch for my kids for Christmas. They werent too sure about it, but after playing it we were all hooked. The amount of customization you can do with your carts is so neat for them. Theres a ton of characters, maps, game modes etc. This is fun for the whole family no doubt. But what do you expect? Its Nintendo AND Super Mario

Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun! This game is money well spent, people. If you have a Nintendo Switch, and youre also a Mario fan, get this game now! Theres many great characters to choose from, and you can customize your kart. If you get some achievements done youll unlock more things to deck out your vehicle with. I grew up playing Mario Kart 64, and my favorite track from there was Rainbow Road. They have it in this one, too, and its spectacular! Its even more fun playing with friends as well!
