Its sturdy too. Shes thrown the pieces and the paint is holding up nicely. Were very happy with our purchase!

Greater than one weekI purchased these puzzle because my almost 2 year old son is receiving speech therapy and his therapists recommend it to me. They are easy to grab because they are chunky! He is in love with them and plays with it every day he has find many ways to play with them.

Greater than one weekThis is the second time I have purchased this puzzle. One for each of my two grandchildren. Both seem to love it. I just wish they made their products in the USA.

> 3 dayI love this puzzle. My daughters speech therapist brings it with her when she has her visits. My daughter loves doing it over and over again and she has gotten so good at it. The animal pieces are thicker than the board so they stick out making it easy for those little hands to pick them up. I had to order one because it makes me so happy to see my daughter doing so well with it.

> 3 dayI have been searching for good puzzles for toddlers. I am a developmental specialist and work with infants and toddlers with special needs. I look for easy puzzles that have pieces that are easy for toddlers to pick up. I have always loved Melissa & Doug puzzles because they are always so well made and typically very age appropriate. I need puzzles that are sturdy and hold up well. I toss them in bags and in my trunk so they have to be able to take a good beating. When this puzzle arrived, I was beyond excited. Here are the things that I really like about this puzzle and using it for toddlers: - The puzzle has bright colors. This is great when using with young children to keep their attention. - When you take the puzzle piece out, it has the same picture underneath. This makes it easier for toddlers to figure out where the piece goes. - The pieces are thick chunky pieces so even though it doesnt have the little knobs on top, small, uncoordinated hands can get them in and out. - The entire puzzle piece is painted so that there is not any raw wood showing. - The animals are the colors of real animals. I have too many puzzles and kids books that have animals all crazy colors. At this age, its important that the animals are as realistic as possible. The animals on this puzzle are the colors that real ones would be (pig is pink, sheep is white, etc...). I have been using this a ton and the kids really seem to love it. I can use it to not only work on the fine motor skill of putting the puzzle piece in but also the cognitive skill of matching the animals, the language skill of learning animals sounds, names and colors. There is just so much I can do with this puzzle with really young children and ones with delays.

> 3 dayFor a friend’s granddaughter’s 1st birthday she suggested puzzles. I ordered these and they were perfect. The knobs on one puzzle make it so easy for tiny hands to manipulate. Melissa and Doug puzzles are top quality. I would definitely order these for a little one again!

> 3 dayI got this puzzle on a lightning deal so the price was just perfect. I had had my eyes on this series of puzzles for a while now so I was thrilled to see them featured! I was debating between the peg puzzles and the chunky puzzles but ultimately decided on the chunky for a few reasons: -Though more expensive, the thicker pieces can hold up to more beatings -Pieces are thick enough to stand on their own so can double as wooden imaginary play pieces (we use them with blocks) -Thicker pieces are easier for little hands to grab onto- as opposed to grabbing onto the tiny pegs. I know Melissa and Doug sells puzzles with large knobs, but I felt my son would outgrow those too quickly and this way I would get the most use for my money. I love the bold colors of the farm animals, their smiling faces, and I love that the pieces have the right amount of weight to them. Unlike some of the other Melissa and Doug toys, these dont seem to just have a sticker on the front that can get peeled off (or sucked off since at this age everything ends up in the mouth. The edges of the pieces are painted and smooth. In terms of age, I love that such a wide range of ages can get use out of them. I got these for my son when he was 9 months old, so obviously he was a bit young to be assembling the puzzle. At first he just took the pieces out from their places and now, at 11 months we go through and practice animal sounds. Eventually, hell be able to do the puzzle himself. (Note: I know the recommended age for this product is 2+ years. Use your own discretion as a parent to make the right choice for your child)

> 3 dayLove this product! My 20 months old DD, enjoy it so much and learning from it. She even say the names and sounds of the animal while putting them in. So, glad I bought this for her. We also have a different kind of shape puzzle from Melissa and Doug. They’re also awesome
