Metabo HPT Quiet Air Compressor | 125 PSI | 1 Gallon | EC28M

> 24 hourI bought this to replace a California Air tools compressor that had the motor fail. The similarities are strong. I like the semi-enclosed design better than the previous unit I had. Fewer protuberances to get tangled in. This unit has a steel tank that adds a few pounds over the CAT unit, but not do much as to really notice. It is exceptionally quiet. The capacity is enough for filling tires, air staplers, dust blowing… probably not enough for any sort of extended use of high power air wrenches. But that’s not it’s intended use. One warning- the suction cup hood it nicely on a smooth floor, soooo, when you pick it up, it initially seems quite heavy, then the feet release, and you look like you were trying to do some Olympic event, like compressor tossing.

> 24 hourNote its 1 gallon, and at 100 PSI, this thing is empty in literally like 1-2 seconds. But, more importantly, my unit failed immediately, with a leak at the regulator valve, which slowly dissipated air pressure through that valve, no matter how tight or loose I had it, all the way out or in. So I see this piece of included paper: STOP. DO NOT RETURN to THE STORE. CALL US UP FOR TECH SUPPORT! So I call them up. They say, uh, just return it. LOL. What clowns. That being said, I am getting another one, because its so damn easy to return stuff with Amazon, and this unit is SO SO QUIET that you wont believe its working, so Ill take another chance. I am not pumping up truck tires, I am only using it for shop air to blow out dirt and other issues from crevices, and this will work fine for that. Especially in my small shop, this unit being so quiet is a godsend compared to my older Craftsman 5 Gal compressor which required me to put on hearing protection. Update: new unit performs as expected. I think the problem with the original is that there was some foreign material inside the unit, which I could see was coming out of the water drain valve and pressure release valve. Maybe some metal grit from the machining process, and it probably also got into the pressure relief valve and caused the seals to be ruined. Though, still, the one gallon capacity is like NOTHING.... that motor will need to constantly be on if you are using a steady stream of air at any pressure.

> 24 hourIf you only need a small capacity compressor to run a little finish gun or similar, this thing rocks. So freaking quiet, with little suction cup feet that keep it from sliding all around on the floor when it cycles, drain cock isnt a horrible threaded little brass fitting that you can never tighten enough by hand, but instead a 90 degree valve on or off. Just miles and miles better in every way than the horrible little oil compressor I picked up at home depot to do the same job and was almost glad to see bite the dust...

> 24 hourQuiet machine. Dont use it for anything other than filling car/truck tires and with my Porter Cable finish nailer but it does the job well. Easier to empty than the pancake type.

> 24 hourGreat quiet compressor for 1 month and 3 days. Today went to turn it on and it is leaking out of the check valve and unusable because it cant build pressure in the tank. Its really awesome how this happened 3 days after the 1 month no questions asked return window. Now I have to take my time and take it to a warranty service center. Not what you expect from either Hitachi or Metabo hopefully this isnt the case for Metabo/HPT or they are going to ruin two great brands. I am glad I dont have a finish carpentry job this week.

> 24 hourWhen I read the reviews I wasnt quite sure what to expect. Noise level is very subjective but I was amazed at how quiet this compressor is. The compressor would not even impact the music playing on the job. I could listen to my tunes and keep on working.
