This is the quietest compressor Ive ever used, lightweight too. I have used it regularly in a remodeling business for a couple month now and am very impressed. I originally bought this to use as for interior trim projects. Ive since found that it will power a 7/16 crown stapler and even a Hitachi coil framing gun for small projects. Make no mistake it would not be my go to for assembling walls or rafters, but it allows me to use the framing gun on project where I would have used screws just to avoid pulling out the heavy & loud compressor. It does not trip a 15amp breaker, has no problem running on a 50 extension cord and early morning cold starts are not an issue.

Thing starts and runs fine but never shuts off. I seen very mixed reviews on this product but was better than most. Well I got one of the PIS units and to make it worse it comes with a sheet from manufacturer that if you have any issues call. That would be much more helpful if they would call you back and try and help, very frustrated and dissatisfied!!!!

I needed a small compressor for interior trim etc. And until now I have used a long retractable reel and compressor mounted in my van. It’s always weird to drag a hose through and door/window which has its own annoyances. Also hate dragging the bigger compressor around for small jobs or finish carpentry. This unit is so light and unbelievably quiet! When I turned on I was blown away. I wished it had higher regulated pressure but so far it’s been great for pins/brads/finish nails. It even drives 2.5” coil nails, but you have to let the motor catch up so you can’t rapid fire. For a remodel it may shoot a few framing nails too, but within reason and one might have to hammer the nail right.

When I read the reviews I wasnt quite sure what to expect. Noise level is very subjective but I was amazed at how quiet this compressor is. The compressor would not even impact the music playing on the job. I could listen to my tunes and keep on working.

Compressor motor failed after about 1 year. Its out of warranty, so no support from Metabo. What a joke. I do not recommend this compressor.

Unit is very quiet .. holds enough air to air a tire up on a car, it’s very quiet and recharged the tank pretty quick!

The EC28M Quiet Air Compressor is the first in a Low Noise Series from Metabo HPT that produces just 59dBs of sound so quiet that a normal conversation can be easily heard while the compressor is cycling nearby. It features an industrial oil-free pump for high durability with low maintenance, and a 2. 8 Amp direct drive induction motor for longer life. The motor is protected by an overload protection circuit that cuts off power in the case of an overload situation. Extremely compact and weighing just 25. 2 lbs, the EC28M has an ergonomically shaped rubber carrying handle to make it easier to transport around any jobsite. The steel roll cage design protects the factory installed universal quick coupler and steel encased industrial gauges. This quiet compressor has zero set up time, and is ready to go straight out of the box.
