> 3 dayYou just cant beat the quality and performance of Mitutoyo Id say theres only one other brand as good and thats Starrett. The precision on these are incredible theyre accurate to less than .001 and the battery included literally lasts a year maybe more if you are a machinist working with jobs that have tight tolerances then these are for you, their worth every penny. Just be aware these calipers are VERY sensitive particularly the jaws, just one drop on a hard surface will throw these things off by a couple thousands or so, so be very careful if you take good care of these theyll last you a lifetime youll be a very satisfied customer.

> 3 dayArrived the next day when I ordered it for work. Use it every day at least 8 hours a day and have had no problems and reads extremely accurlitly. 10/10 would recommend if you wanted a nice set of calipers for precision measuring

> 3 dayThis things amazing! Need a precision measurement tool? Want to buy something made in Japan with love by people who care about making a nice thing actually really really nice! ‽ This is the thing for you! Sure it’s a bit more expensive than the cheapy trash ones but you will definitely have this for a long time and know that you are measuring with confidence!!! 100/10 recommend.

> 3 dayAs of this writing, Im eight months in and I grow increasingly happy with this investment. Im far from a heavy user of precision measuring devices. Because of that, the extent of my caliper investment was a couple twenty dollar wannbes. Their dependability was such that I avoided using them, except when there was no other option. Each time I wanted to use the cheap ones, I had to replace or install the battery. Now, with the Mitutoyo, I have no qualms about reaching for them to, for example, determine the inner and outer diameter of bearings for my pieces of equipment. Unlike the cheap versions I had in the past, these are ready to go with just a touch of a button. Regarding accuracy, these go well beyond anything I need, for what Im dealing with (bearing sizes, bolt sizes, etc.). SIDE NOTE: Going by information others posted, mine is the genuine article. P.S. I gave the other two, battery eating toys away.

16-01-2025Every guy wants a caliper but thinks they cant justify a good one, so instead starts with one of the cheap ones. If youre smart, youll only do that once. If youre really smart, just buy the good one in the first place. This is one of those tools you just need to pay up for. That said, this one is very nice but I dont love it. Pros: - Highly accurate - Automatically reads exact position every time! Love it! Never loses zero!! - Doesnt run down battery when not on (like all the cheap ones do) - High build quality Cons: - No detail markings. You have to use the digital display. OK, sure, thats fine 98% of the time. But if its ever out of battery, its useless. - Read that last one again - seriously bad design. This is a really nice caliper, and I love the auto-zero, but Id buy any other model that had detail markings. - Buttons are TINY and still hard to press even when you get a fingernail on it. - Doesnt auto shut off quickly (or possibly at all). Recommended. Its worth the purchase price for sure. I just wish theyd fix the minor annoyances.

> 3 dayI have been using cheap Chinese calipers for years. The difference between the Mitutoyo and the cheap Chinese calipers is night and day. The machine work of the Mitutoyo calipers is of a very high standard. Granted the price difference is huge, but after using the Mitutoyo calipers I can say the price difference is worth it in my case. I should have bought these years ago. Highly recommend Mitutoyo over anything else.

Greater than one weekWhat can I say, I LOVE THESE CALIPERS!!! Ive had around 12 sets from various makers over the past few years and every set has had a week point whether it be jumpy, inaccurate, constant need to rezero, rough sliding mechanism, extremely sensitive to pressure, you name it. Not with these! I primarily use them in my reloading and occasionally to get a rough measurement on parts I make on my lathe. If you are thinking about getting them just go ahead and do it, and save yourself some time and aggitation. If I had bought these to begin with I wouldve even saved a few bucks overall.

Greater than one weekThis is far superior to my generic one which was constantly turning off and rezeroing itself and also giving me inconsistent readings every time I measured. If you make jewelry or another craft where you need precise measurements this one is worth it. The only thing I needed to get used to was that it doesnt turn off by itself so sometimes I forget and am probably wasting battery life. However, in most cases that is a feature not a bug (meaning its not always turning itself off in between measurements). In addition, if the jaws are left open and you turn it off, when you turn it on it still gives you a measurement of where you left off, it doesnt just zero off from that spot. You can press the TAR button for that giving you much more control and saving time. Once in a while it gets unzeroed by a 1/2mm and you can just take the battery out, close the jaws all the way, replace battery and hold the zeroing button to reset. Otherwise very stable and consistent readings.
