I have been using cheap Chinese calipers for years. The difference between the Mitutoyo and the cheap Chinese calipers is night and day. The machine work of the Mitutoyo calipers is of a very high standard. Granted the price difference is huge, but after using the Mitutoyo calipers I can say the price difference is worth it in my case. I should have bought these years ago. Highly recommend Mitutoyo over anything else.

I love these calipers. These are accurate and come in a solid case for storage. Ive made the mistake of buying cheap calipers in the past and finally I did the right thing and bought a pair of these Mitutoyos. Japanese quality!

I have been buying calipers for several years and never this satisfied. Of course all others most likely were chinesiums. Some, I purchased and was very happy for a few days, weeks, months. Battery died within 6 months. I thought that was the norm, so I purchased a dozen batteries to keep as needed. But lately Ive done some research and decided to spend some hard earned money into this caliper and I am very happy. I also purchased one at half price on ebay 2 days ago, but had to cancel the transaction before the seller could ship. I first asked the ebay seller if this was genuine and made in japan, to which he said yes and yes. However, after watching several youtube videos, doing some more research and contacting the company, I asked this seller to please cancel the transaction before shipping it, which he did and I got my refund last night. This morning at 7.45am, I received this new one from Amazon and I was super excited to open it and see if all what I heard and saw was true. This of course feels terrific as was noticed by others. But feeling is not the purpose of this caliper. It sure does not even flicker the numbers like my others did. The numbers on the screen are distinct, and repeatable. All features are on point. I measured several items, inclding paper thickness of various papers. All measurements repeat exact same. I then proceeded to do the ampere testing with my Fluke multimeter. Sure enough, the usage drops considerably when off, not like the others that use almost the same current whether on or off, thus explaining why their batteries die so soon. Bottom line, although I spent a lot more money than the other calipers on this one, am I satisfied? Yes. No regrets at all for the first time, on a caliper purchase.

Mine was legit. Watched a few YT videos to make sure. No red flags (no pun intended).

I work at a machining shop where I have to get thousandths quite often-while its obvious that its accuracy is at its highest by being unworn, every time I zeroed with the jaws shut, it held a perfect zero no matter how hard I tried to press it together. Likewise, if performing the same measurement and done the same way, the results matched to the 5 tenths with no hesitation. Came with quite the little calibration test sheet, which was nice for the guys who calibrate the tools at the shop. Also, while its just a feel thing, it glides when measuring. Its the smoothest set of digital calipers Ive handled. While the jaws arent the fancy super-hardened steel some other options have, they do very well and show no sign of problems. Very happy with them, especially knowing I dont have to try to find one of the regular shop calipers for ten minutes.

I bought my first Mitutoyo calliper 50 years ago and its still in good condition except the edges for inside measure gets little round. Now its much easier to read in mm and inches (not guessing), i like it (Ok its all depends how you care for the tools) . . .

Was very skeptical especially with all the fakes. I bought through LLC Amazon, and after doing quite a bit of research I believe these to be real. There are 4 zeros before the decimal point when in inches, and 2 zeros before the decimal in mm, the finish is very nice, even the box is very sturdy. The battery is the correct SR-44 and comes in its own plastic packaging (in the caliper box), the zero button has to be held when you fit the battery, when doing this make sure you put squeeze them closed to ensure correct readings. I contacted Mitutoyo to ensure the certificate of inspection of genuine as the signature and stamps look to be printed on. They viewed photos of the documents and believed them to be authentic, I think Mutitoyo must be printing signatures now... I also saw a review of someone else which posted the photo of this card, and it had a different serial number to mine which is another indication the item is authentic. For the record my serial ends in 554 so chances are if we all have different serial numbers the item is authentic as they match the item and certificate. I hope this helps someone. Thanks.

I read a number of reviews that said other cheaper brands were just as good and there was no reason to pay more for a Mitutoyo. Bought the Mitutoyo and an iGuaging to compare. While they both may be accurate, the Mitutoyo has significantly better fit and finish, sturdiness, etc. Everything about it feels quality. Kept the Mitutoyo and the iGuaging went back.

Just holding it and looking at it you can tell the difference in quality. The fit and finish are amazing. The slide is smooth and doesnt wobble or feel loose. The display is easy to read and its spot on. You dont have to re-calibrate. It knows its exact position wherever it is when you turn it on. Ive had it for a few months now and the battery isnt dead unlike all the other look-a-likes you can find for $25-$30. Made in Japan not China. It does not have an automatic shutoff. some like that, some dont. I kinda like it when you get distracted (wife, kids, buddy with beers in hand) the measurement is still on display when you come back.

Incredible, accurate, bought in 2019 and battery still going strong in 2023. Probably been dropped about 50 times and still work just fine.
