Great for running in walls to binding posts. Nice and heavy for carrying over long distances.

Very nice quality wire. Inner jackets are thick and well made. Only dislike is the outer jacket is very loose. Not a problem, and I do not expect it to cause a problem pulling the cable, but would be nice if the jacket fit a little snugger.

I under bought for my project, and I initially purchased the media bridge version. After seeing 250ft roll for just $30 more than what I paid for 100ft of the other brand, I kicked myself, then bought the larger roll. Having used both brands, Id recommend buying whichever one you can get a better deal on at the time. Between the media bridge and monoprice version of the 12AWG in-wall cable and I give the monoprice a slight advantage just based on price. After working with the two cables, they seem identical. The monoprice conductors may be marginally easier to strip, but I honestly think these two are made in the same factory and just have different names stamped on them. Id recommend buying whichever one you can get a better deal on at the time.

I needed some quality speaker cable for a new home theater installation and immediately went to Monoprice for my cable. They make very good cable and their prices are amazing for what you get. Ive seen reviews in A/V magazines that say this cable is just as good as those costing ten times more, and from what I can tell its just as good as the Monster cable one of my friends insists on using. I went with 12AWG not because I needed it at this time, but because I was trying to future proof my cable install ( its a pain to run this stuff after your walls are covered!) Like other cable types this one also has the foot increments on the cable so you know how long a run was and how much cable you have left. Overall great cable, you will not be disappointed in this or any other Monoprice cables.

I managed to grab a 250 roll of this 12 AWG cable only $80. Been wanting 12 AWG cable given that I have about 50 runs through my walls to my rear surround speakers. Just couldnt justify the cost so I watched and waited. This is a great cable. Glad I managed to snag it cheaper than normal!

There is not much more I can say. It is a nice wire that does a great job. I will be buying more if I need it.

Good cable. Little stiff but was easy to work with.

I originally bought this last year for my house, never got around to wiring it up, and my parents needed some wire, so used it at their house, and the sound is much better than the wireless system they used to have. Now I bought a second reel for my house. Im expecting good things here too.

Get the most out of your home audio system with high quality, oxygen-free, pure bare copper speaker wire from monoprice!

this speaker wire features two conductors made of high purity (greater than 99.95% pure), oxygen-free bare copper. Pure bare copper is a superior conductor to the copper clad aluminum (CCA) conductors used in most other inexpensive speaker wire. Cca is only about 68% as conductive as pure bare copper. This additional resistance is added to the impedance of your speakers and can negatively effect The sound.

for the wire to have no audible effect, The total wire resistance should be no more than 5% of the lowest impedance of your speakers. Even speakers rated for a nominal 8-ohms, may dip to as low as 4-ohms at some frequencies, which further reduces the total cable resistance allowed in the wire. Using pure bare copper speaker wire ensures that the total load put on the amplifier remains as close as possible to the impedance curve of your speakers.

for example, a 16AWG 2-conductor pure bare copper speaker wire has a total resistance of 0.803 ohms per 100 feet (both directions must be considered). by comparison, a 16AWG 2-conductor CCA speaker wire has a total resistance of 1.181 ohms per 100 feet. Assuming 4 ohms is the lowest impedance of your speakers, a speaker wire run can be no more 0.2-Ohms total. 20 feet of 16AWG pure bare copper would be 0.1606 ohms, well under the 0.2-Ohm limit. On the other hand, 20 feet of 16AWG CCA would be 0.2362 ohms, well over the 0.2-Ohm limit.

each conductor is jacketed with color-coded PVC for easy polarity identification. The entire cable assembly is jacketed in a white, CL2-rated PVC material. The CL2 rating indicates that the cable complies with fire safety and insurance requirements, making it safe for use inside the walls of residential class buildings.
