Great quality wire has plenty of strands. My speakers sound great with these. No issues.

Very nice product! Has marking at every foot in length which helped with installation. High grade copper wire.

I ran this to the various in-wall and in-ceiling speakers and speaker jacks in our new house prior to drywall installation. Our house is not complete so I havent connected any speakers yet. But since it is basically copper wire I dont foresee any problems.

Bought this to wire up a new home theater room in my house. I was running through walls so was looking for some sort of jacketed in wall cable. This fit the bill and was at a price (<$0.50/ft) that was tough to beat. The cable easily pulled through walls and small holes (as small as 5/16 dia in places where I wanted to be discreet). I read some reviews that said it is too stiff or difficult to install to wall plates; that was not my experience. I found it to be only slightly more stiff than non-jacketed speaker wire and as i said the jacket made it easily slide through the walls. I also attached the ends to Monoprice Banana Binding Post wall plates and found it to be plenty flexible for that purpose. The only odd thing I will note is that the black conductor is more difficult to strip than the red....odd, but still not a big deal. Would definitely buy again!

I bought it for wiring up a deck for sound. The electrician seemed impressed with it, so theres that. The staples didnt break the wires and it was very flexible. There were no breaks in any of the stretches. Monoprice seems to have a sizable chunk of their offerings on sale at any time, so it was priced lower than the comptition. If you can get it on sale, it is afforable and works great for in wall cabling.

This is really very high quality and I am very happy I got it. The wire was marked in feet so it makes it really easy to cut exactly where you want. The price was right! I really love it.

The cable works great for my home theater system. The cost was not bad for this gauge cable.

Im sure different people have their preferences, but I always felt 12G was what I wanted, long term for my sitting room speakers. I chose Monoprice 250ft cos of the length (to reach the two back speakers). And I wasnt disappointed, thick but flexible and solid. Looks like the kind of wire that will last for ages, which is important for me because I plan to upgrade my speakers say in 2 years time, but Id rather not have to rewire when that time comes. Especially because I had to wire into ceilings and walls to keep the setup neat.

Get the most out of your home audio system with high quality, oxygen-free, pure bare copper speaker wire from monoprice!

this speaker wire features two conductors made of high purity (greater than 99.95% pure), oxygen-free bare copper. Pure bare copper is a superior conductor to the copper clad aluminum (CCA) conductors used in most other inexpensive speaker wire. Cca is only about 68% as conductive as pure bare copper. This additional resistance is added to the impedance of your speakers and can negatively effect The sound.

for the wire to have no audible effect, The total wire resistance should be no more than 5% of the lowest impedance of your speakers. Even speakers rated for a nominal 8-ohms, may dip to as low as 4-ohms at some frequencies, which further reduces the total cable resistance allowed in the wire. Using pure bare copper speaker wire ensures that the total load put on the amplifier remains as close as possible to the impedance curve of your speakers.

for example, a 16AWG 2-conductor pure bare copper speaker wire has a total resistance of 0.803 ohms per 100 feet (both directions must be considered). by comparison, a 16AWG 2-conductor CCA speaker wire has a total resistance of 1.181 ohms per 100 feet. Assuming 4 ohms is the lowest impedance of your speakers, a speaker wire run can be no more 0.2-Ohms total. 20 feet of 16AWG pure bare copper would be 0.1606 ohms, well under the 0.2-Ohm limit. On the other hand, 20 feet of 16AWG CCA would be 0.2362 ohms, well over the 0.2-Ohm limit.

each conductor is jacketed with color-coded PVC for easy polarity identification. The entire cable assembly is jacketed in a white, CL2-rated PVC material. The CL2 rating indicates that the cable complies with fire safety and insurance requirements, making it safe for use inside the walls of residential class buildings.
