> 24 hourI used this on my first PC build in decades. I was a little nervous because last time I did this, cooling systems were a lot less complicated than they are now! I wasnt sure if the system I got would come with its own paste (turns out it does), but this brand came very highly recommended by master builders and for the price I figured I couldnt go wrong with it. I skipped the generic stuff that came in my coolers packaging and used this instead. So far so good- Im using this with an i7 9700k, and Im slowly experimenting with overclocking. I havent performed a high CPU stress test yet, but so far the system is running well and most importantly, running cool!

> 24 hourThis stuff is awesome and is with every penny honestly. Ive been getting into resurrecting old consoles that have been left to die essentially, so I go through and make sure everything is cleaned up and functional and or replace parts and always add new thermal paste to the CPU/APU before I finish and Ive had no issues with it! Definitely would recommend if you know what youre doing.

> 24 hourIts Arctic Silver. If youve used it, you know. If you havent, you should. Clean off that garbage these heatsink and AIO manufacturers put on their product, use this stuff and dont worry about your temps. Plenty of YouTube videos showing how to properly apply it.

> 24 hourI don’t have much experience with thermal pastes, but the thickness and spread of this brand was about perfect I’d say, the pea size or X-method work great. Temps dropped a couple degrees compared to Corsair’s thermal paste on the h100i. The main reason I went with this is because of the reviews I found on the internet, not disappointed

Performance
3 to 12 degrees centigrade lower CPU full load core temperatures than standard thermal compounds or thermal pads when measured with a calibrated thermal diode imbedded in the CPU core.
Coverage Area: A 3.5 gram syringe contains enough compound to cover at least 15 to 25 small CPU cores, or 6 to 10 large CPU cores, or 2 to 5 heat plates. At a layer 0.003" thick, the 3.5 gram syringe will cover approximately 16 square inches

Arctic Silver 5 does not contain any silicone. The suspension fluid is a proprietary mixture of advanced polysynthetic oils that work together to provide three distinctive functional phases. As it comes from the syringe, Arctic Silver 5"s consistency is engineered for easy application. During the CPU"s initial use, the compound thins out to enhance the filling of the microscopic valleys and ensure the best physical contact between the heatsink and the CPU core. Then the compound thickens slightly over the next 50 to 200 hours of use to its final consistency designed for long-term stability. (This should not be confused with conventional phase change pads that are pre-attached to many heatsinks. Those pads melt each time they get hot then re-solidify when they cool.
The viscosity changes that Arctic Silver 5 goes through are much more subtle and ultimately much more effective.)
