Greater than one weekPurchased a 90-pill bottle to try last year. It worked very well - D vitamin count went up in a few months. Purchased a 250-pill bottle after. The look of the pills and the bottle cap are different. More importantly, the vitamin count decreased next year. Have they changed the formula along with the design? Would give the last purchase 3.5 stars at this point. Would need to look for other options now.

> 3 dayIn my late twenties much more hair was coming out in the shower. I paid $250 to hair loss doctor only to discover that he was skeptical that I was losing my hair at all (BTW goto a female doctor if you have this problem and are female). I dont have a family history of hair loss, my dad still has a full head of hair, so I attributed it to stress. Then I found somewhere here on Amazon under a review for a hair growth shampoo a recommendation for vitamin D. (How did we survive before the internet?) Of course! I live in the city and, except when on vacation, I hardly ever spend time in the sun (to prevent wrinkles). TMI, if you want to keep reading: Scientists have proven that skin color is directly related to how much sun our ancestors received, depending on where they lived. In the African continent many people have kinky, nappy, hair probably to allow the sweat to drip easier down the scalp and evaporate quicker. Those in the northern, snowy climates have straighter, thin hair which lays on the scalp, providing added insulation. I am Scandinavian, black, and Native American so I have a lot of thick, dry hair that gets oily at the scalp because I keep it very long. With the vitamin D deficiency, my body probably thinks I now live in a northern climate so I dont need as much of this dry hair. So now I take vitamin D and, voila, the amount I loose in the shower is reduced significantly.

Greater than one weekEasily absorbed and helped my low levels of vitamin D3 turnaround so that I am in a low normal level now. My physician is pleased with the results.

Greater than one weekThis is a solid and reputable brand from the several dozen I researched. Vitamin D is one of humanity’s most deficient nutrients known. People who get inadequate sunlight such as myself require supplementation. This is a good way to get it. Note that I also use a multivitamin and get somewhere around 4000-5000 IU/day, but this product is probably the more efficient method for obtaining vitamin D specifically. You could take 2x the recommended dosage of this very safely. The upper limit is somewhere around 10000 IU/day. So if it’s a concern of greater deficiency then 3-5x the dosage can be used. Note that blood tests are the only way to be certain for vitamin deficiencies. If you are concerned at all, get a vitamin panel done at the doctors! They’re a little pricey, but nutrient deficiency is a severely hindering condition, and can manifest itself even in smaller deficiencies.
