I have many switches I use for NVR Video surveillance, and high end hone network testing, local backups and large file transfers. I got this as a backup but wound up using for redundancy to my network! It is managed but I use it out of the box as unmanaged and works great! Im not a huge netgear fan for routers, however their switches are first class for large scale home / small business use.. I needed tech support on a different switch that was out of warrantee but running behind this one which was covered, I was surprised at how really helpful their support was to not just help me with my one issue but providing a very quick solution for me that made sense as they really knew their stuff, just took them understanding exactly what my goal was and im very grateful they really helped me out, but this switch for the money is rock solid and would buy more, and would recommend to a friend, customer, anybody who needs an unmanaged switch or a managed one with limited options but some customization if needed, though always works right out of the box after all kinds of routers, ip addresses subnet changes, it immediately adapts and kicks right into new settings like a breeze!! Great product!

I needed this switch to get more ethernet ports in an open room space. I went with Netgear because of Brand recognition and was not disappointed, Easy to setup, true Plug and play, strong metal build. Got speed as advertised, still going strong after almost two years of use.

I have used Netgear products in my homes for over 25 years - good quality and reasonably priced.

This unit is doing exactly what I need it to do.

I upgraded my LAN system from cat 5e to cat 6 cabling, this switch works just fine. Easy setup.

Works like its not even there. Perfect. Its worth buying name brand stuff like this...better engineering and piece parts used. That off branded, unheard of stuff fails.

My house was wired for ethernet with all the cables ending in a box in the basement. I wanted my router to be located in my family room so I ran an extra cable from the router location to the box in the basement. I then plugged that cable into the switch and also the other cables leading to various rooms in the house. Everything immediately went to work. I am very satisfied. In the photo the white cable comes from my router and the blue cables go to ethernet ports in various places in my house.

Works excellent

I replaced an older Netgear switch that was rated up to 100 megabytes/sec. It worked perfectly for 10 years. This one was easy to set up and even had the same dimensions and mounting hole pattern! I look forward to another decade of trouble free service.

Have several of these units, reliable, and good management interface!!!
