I am using this for a Syrian hamster. She loves it and is in there multiple times a day digging and plowing. I was hoping she would litter train to it bit it is a sand box in a toddler kinda way. Handle it carefully as it is heavy when full of sand. It could crack a tank if not handled carefully. Dont think that the lid will keep sand in. Aurora seems to aim for the hole. Sand is everywhere but that doesnt bother me. She digs with gusto throwing sand with wild and happy abandon. Tested with Nite Angel sand.

Perfect corner, sand bath for my hamster.

This sand bath is the perfect option. A sufficient size for a Syrian. A dwarf would need an area with more sand. But Niteangel has options for that. As for this sand bath, the surface area is quite large, 8 inches I think. This is perfect for my full grown Syrian. She has plenty of room to turn and dig as she pleases. Also the sides are high enough that sand does not fling out everywhere (into water, food, etc). The platform on top is a great solution to have a hide in the sand bath, which is necessary. Hamsters love some privacy when they bath - don’t we all! My hamster loves it, and it looks great in her enclosure so I love it too!

So I bought this for my dwarf hamster and he loves it. It is so well made like the other niteangel products. This will last forever. It is crystal clear and easy to clean. Yes, you could use a cheaper alternative but this really makes the hamster enclosure look nice. It is super sturdy and you can use the food bowl else where in the enclosure and leave the hole open for your little critter. I like it as I put his wheel on top so it doesnt sink into the bedding.

My bigger Syrian hamster seemed cramped in her other sand bath so I bought this for her. She took to it right away but did not like the cover, so I removed it. She liked it so much I purchased a second one for her daughters cage/tank.

It was my fault, I didnt check specifics. I ordered this bath for my gerbils and just took the picture in account of the size. It was WAY to big for their cage. It was very sturdy and seemed well made. Would have love to be able to use it.

It is a perfect addition to my daughter’s hamster habitat. He gravitated to it immediately and really enjoys digging and playing in the sand. Plenty of room for him and he is a good size teddy bear hamster.
