> 3 dayGreat fans, I put six of these in my Fractal Designs R4 and they are quieter than the three Fractal 140mm fans they replaced. Top quality fans that are well worth the money.

> 3 dayReplaced the stock Cooler Master fans that go to the Nepton 280L in the top of my Cosmos II. Computer went from being too loud to talk over, to so quiet its hard to tell its running. Best fan purchase EVER !!!

> 3 daySo, recently I’ve been completing some final tweaks on my machine and now that I’ve settled on the ram, cpu, cooler, case, and tweaked my overclocking for best balance between good idle temperatures and performance, it was time to delve into case fan land. Something told me to just stick with Noctua, but of course I had to go and start watching some youtube videos that claimed the Kaze Flex or Artic P series stuff was king for case fans. Nope, not even close, at least not in my ‘case’, literally. I have a Corsair 275r Airflow and after trying out the Kaze Flex 140mm in the front of my case, there was a low hum that started to bother me. Don’t get me wrong, they are leaps and bounds better than any standard fan that would come in a case, but there was still noise/hum, and maybe I’m picky, but the only thing I wanna hear is airflow, not any kind of hum.

> 3 dayBought 5 of these fans total. Used them to replaced the three stock fans in my Corsair 750D case and then add two more exhaust fans at the top.

> 3 dayI use a Cooler Master Cosmos 1000 case for a Gigabyte EX58-UD5 mobo running a slightly OCd i7-902 chip, Windows 7 64-bit, 3 HDs, ATI Radeon 79xx, and Asus Xonar DSX. Top exhaust fans were two 120mm Scythes - generally excellent. Speccy said CPU rested at 40c. Had a problem with rare, spontaneous rebooting and tracked it down to summer sunlight falling directly on my case with a resulting climb in temperature. Problem solved by moving the computer. By then I was looking at additional solutions, such as improving cooling but keeping the noise down. Reviews aimed me at Noctua 140mm NF-A14 FLX; got a pair. The upper fan positions in the Cosmos 1000 are tapped for 120mm and 140mm fans, so no problems with installation. Started with most aggressive of the three possible settings. Speccy said CPU rested at 35c. No increase in sound, so I did not try slower speed settings. Fans seem very rugged and were well packaged with all components. If you use air cooling on your case and you are interested in keeping the noise down, I highly recommend these.

> 3 dayIn my opinion Noctua fans are the best you can buy if youre building a quiet system. They may be more expensive than other brands, but theres a reason for that. I had previously purchased another set of fans and found that their startup voltage was very high, I had to turn my controller up to nearly 70% to get them to start up. The Noctuas start up every time at 30% and Ive started even lower.
