After seeing how cool this fan is and how great quality it is, I wish I would have just been patient and gotten the right NH-D15 cpu cooler that I wanted. I settled for the “be quiet!” One and it looks alright, I guess it does a good enough job. But this fan is mounted behind it for the exhaust and it just looks like slightly better quality. This fan came with a bunch of extra corner pads and was easy to install. So the story behind it, not that you probably really care, is that I bought the NH-D15 but failed to pay attention that it wasn’t chromax black. It was the ugly brown kind. Still unboxed it and checked it out. The thing was sick, just ugly brown. Tried to exchange it at micro center but they were out of stock. So I settled for the other one because the salesman convinced me. Maybe someday I’ll drop another $120 to get it to match this fan.

I first want to say that these fans are amazing. I always heard about Noctuas but never needed them bc i was using Mac products(mbp and mac mini). I recently decided rather than upgrading my mac mini, ill build an Hackintosh. I cant imagine build any kind of pc without these fans. Low noise was a major concern when building and i want to say that these reduced noise levels to a minimum. I have 4 Noctuas in my build and i can describe the sound as a low breeze. I honestly forget that the computer is in my room. The reason that i give it 4/5 is bc you have to buy anti vibration and y cables separately!!! What type of nonsense is that!? why not include 4 anti vibrations and 1 y cable in each package and just raise the price by a dollar or 2! I had to wait a whole 24 hours to get these essentials smfh

Its no surprise that these fans deliver everything you could ask for in a computer fan. Theyre very quiet while supplying a great amount of airflow to my system. I use 3 total in my case, and they all work very well. My computer is on roughly 20hrs a day, and they still have no issues. The vibration reduction from the silicon pads in the corners are great, and the color choice is awesome. I personally use red for my red/black themed build.

Im not sure if I got a faulty batch or what, all other noctua fans Ive purchased have an unobtrusive whoosing sound to them. These fans, no matter what speed, are loud and whining, and the speed at which they need to spin to cool as adequately as even their 120mm fans, is louder than their 120mm fans, I wouldnt recommend these unless your pc is in a separate room from you.

These would be one of the few new fans i had decided to purchase as a upgrade to my old Corsair LL 120 fans used in my old build.

The build quality is great and the vibration pads also are good and easy to install.

While many rave about Noctua and I have a Noctua CPU cooler, These fans, as an air intake at the front of the case, is a VERY POOR CHOICE!!!!! My Fractal case has two intake fans at the front but they are not PWM. I decided to try these. Fractal uses long screws to go through the framework at the front of the case to screw into receptacles behind the fan. The problem starts in that Noctua only has about 1 (one) inch of cable from the fan to a connector where an extension cable lugs in. Totally STUPID!!! Who can use a 1 power cable? This set up with the way the case is constructed, does not allow much, if any, safe way to get the cables from the fan to the power header. Sent them back and purchased another fan from Fractal that should work MUCH better.
