> 3 dayI was a bit skeptical that they would actually be quieter, but they are indeed quiet. Almost inaudible. No high pitch, only a low wind rush kind of sound that is not annoying, if even audible over ambient noise.

> 3 dayI bought these based on Noctuas stellar reputation without expecting much more than a quiet replacement for my case fans. I was pleasantly surprised when they turned out to be better than I had expected. I use these connected to the PWM fan headers on my motherboard and they are so quiet, way more so than the Phanteks case fans they replaced. To be fair to the case fans that were replaced they were close to 5yrs steady use and were showing the abuse of constant use. I like the vibration dampeners on the Noctua fans, being able to swap those out to match your color theme is nice, and I intentionally choose NON-RGB fans for my case fans as my setup has plenty of RGB already. These fans move a ton of air and do it quietly, they hardly ever ramp up because my case has good airflow and they provide plenty of air. I was rather surprised that my GPU temps dropped with the addition of these fans, that is just how much better the air is moving in my case. While I am using these as case fans they would make EXCELLENT radiator fans if your looking for replacement fans for a 140mm or 280mm radiator. They are definitely worth the premium in price, build quality is superb, you can feel it when you hold them in your hand.

> 3 daySo let me start by saying that the performance is decent, its fairly even with the competition though, at a louder decibel rate. I tested two of these as intakes and my system temps actually went up 3c at the same decibel reading. If you put these on anything higher that 800 rpm they sound like tiny jet engines starting up inside a hangar.

> 3 day2 out of 8 could make it to 30% (500 RPM) without humming or whirring infernally. Tested each percentage with fan in hand, and its a joke. No technique in your fan curve will circumvent the fiend living in the motor. Panel lotteries, PSU inductor lotteries, and now fans? In each instance, Ive won only by switching brands. Scythe saved my will to live this time with their Kaze Flex. Now I cant hear ****.

> 3 dayI dont know how they can make these things so quiet. You cant hear them running. At the most and aside from the industrial versions, all you can hear is the air moving, which unless you have some magical way of changing the laws of physics, that is what it is. The rubber antivibration mounts are easy to install and work well. I have 5 of these and 4 120mm Noctua redux 1700. I couldnt be happier with them. I havent had the opportunity to personally compare them with the major competitors. But others have and Noctua always makes peoples best PC fan lists. Others might be able to move more air, but the trade off is noise. Others might have a higher static pressure but again there is trade offs. Noctuas have a perfect balance of airflow and static pressure. Is there cheaper fan options? Of coarse but none with this quality of build. You get what you pay for in life. They are rated and warrantied to last a full 6 years at max RPM.

> 3 dayThe Noctua brand is typically the go-to for high-performance case or radiator fans. If youre having airflow issues, or youre serious about your build, buy Noctua.

Greater than one weekKeep it under 500 RPM and youll never know its there. However, they are audible above about 600 RPM. Considering their size, however, a couple of them running at 400-500 RPM is all you need to move enough air to keep even large cases cool.
