> 24 hourAfter much research and vacillation between water vs air cooling, I went with the noctua. My Skylake 4ghz clocks to 4.7ghz with this--with water maybe I could get a little more but it doesnt matter to me; I mostly run it at under 4.5 anyway. The fan is dead silent and mounting the fan on top, as shown here, allows my low profile memory not only to fit under it but to be inserted or removed (ATX case). I also like the orientation of the radiator. Why? Physics--the farther out the mass from the point of attachment, the more leverage on the motherboard; this orientation with the radiator parallel to the motherboard keeps the mass close minimizing the leverage--the fan also blows right down onto the memory.

> 24 hourI needed a high quality cooler that would fit into a 4U rackmount server case. This one was perfect when configured in the low profile fan setup. Very high quality as you would expect from Noctua.

> 24 hourThe main plate on the heatsink had a scratch across it. Im not sure how this happened as there was no damage to the packaging and the protective cover was in the correct place. If I built my computer within the 30day return period I would have returned it to Amazon. I reached out to Noctua and their customer service said it wont affect cooling performance and might actually improve it. I think thats just a joke, if it improved cooling performance then they should prescratch all of their heatsinks, Lol.

> 24 hourBought this to fit a Silverstone gd09 case for a htpc, just fits and everything works perfectly and is quiet. Highly recommended although its a bit pricey and a little tricky to install

> 24 hourBest CPU air cooler Ive used, hands down. I ended up replacing the fan with Noctaus Industrial 140mm PWM fan just for the black vs brown but the included fan is excellent if youre ok with Noctua fleshy-beige (Im not haha)

> 24 hourfirst time using an after market cooler. my i5-4670k would reach temps around 80 degrees using the stock cooler i had for about 2 years. i just recently upgraded to this cooler, my first observation was how silent it was. considering the unit is much more massive i expected at least a similar sound but its really soft with my tower right next to me. i boot up around +3 degrees from room temp and i peaked 59 degrees a couple times now with a maximum load for me, playing a modern video game with a 1080p60fps stream and a file transfer between my hard drives. looking forward to overclocking

> 24 hourI installed this for a friend on a 3950X with only the single fan it came with and he has no problems keeping it under full load 24/7 at stock clocks. Very impressive cooler yet again from Noctua.
