> 3 dayThis was a gift for my dad. He had one I bought for him and then had to get a new PC the Dragon did not copy over. So I bought him a new one for his birthday. NOT USER FRIENDLY as far as the set up. He has had to have some come over several times to try to get it installed and is very frustrated. I will not be replacing this again for him I will be looking into a different product and make sure its easily installed

> 3 dayWorks great. Ive even used it to voice command Assassins Creed Syndicate. Placed on commands it works great to activate eagle vision, the rope launcher, or weapons etc. Just make sure you have plenty of RAM. Ive used this to dictate a book section that I needed, emails and other applications. Remember that the more you use it the better it gets. It does take a while to get used to the commands, but it recognized most words and is easy to correct using the mouse if needed. CONS: The microphone that comes with the product. You will get error messages that the sound is too low no matter what you do. I recommend the purchase of a USB microphone adapter. It will solve that issue and is cheaper than buying a usb headset. Will also allow you to listen to movies, games etc through the headphones which is great if you are a night owl like me and dont want to keep everyone else awake watching a movie at 3am. Would recommend for anyone who needs to do a lot of dictation such as converting hand written journals and letters to type etc.

> 3 dayI love it. Over 11 years ago tried a program like this for medical dictation and it didnt work at all. Recently because of some bursitis I thought I would purchase this program based on some positive reviews I saw in the last week. Im having to do some dictation with medical terminology and it works great I love it. I wish I wouldve considered purchasing this unit months ago as I believe I would have been able to accomplish a lot more work with my note taking. Its amazing it works so well. Its easy to use. I recommend this definitely

> 3 dayThis is the base model of the software - the premium versions may have slightly better VR processing, but this is adequate more most applications, if you speak a reasonably standard form of the language. It handles slang and idioms in context surprisingly well, but does not do as well with accented speech or dialects. The UI is capable, but takes a little practice to learn how do command it to format text. Good value for the price.

> 3 dayAfter two days of installing and trying to set up my Dragon Naturally Speaking Home 13 I finally called tech support because although the windows speech recognition worked fine, Dragon could not recognize my microphone. I was unable to go online to do tech support because when I tried to register my product it said it was having technical difficulties. So, after waiting 20 minutes, the technician registered my product for me. She then informed me that the headset that was sent with Dragon is not compatible to Dragon. SERIOUSLY??? She told me I had to go out and buy a USB connector for the headset for it to work. This is not acceptable business people. When I pay for something Id really like to get my moneys worth and not find unexpected extras I have to buy. Im going to buy the usb microphone because at this point I have no choice. But when its time for an upgrade, I will be looking somewhere other than Dragon Speak

Greater than one weekThis program used to be amazing! However, this Home v. 13 never learned our voices well enough to function so it went unused. Calling Nuance proved useless because they no longer support this version. If you are going to purchase this program, seriously consider purchasing the most recent version so you get the support you need. This is the 2nd edition of this I have purchased because the first version worked flawlessly.

> 3 dayI live with a disability that prevents me from using your standard keyboard with relative ease. Dragon NaturallySpeaking has been a bit of a lifesaver, for me. Granted, there are some issues with the way it understands me (even after Ive trained the program, twice). However, as far as speech to text goes, this program is the best! I also think that the fact that Im using a web cam microphone might be why Im having some of the issues that I have. The software does come with its own microphone headset, I just dont use it because it keeps me tethered to the computer. If anybody can recommend a good wireless microphone headset (or microphone) that I can wear with my bowler hat, Id be appreciative!

> 3 dayI bought this dictation program (CD software and headset/mic) hoping that it would work, and knowing that because its Amazon, if it did not, I could get my money back. Well, surprise, it works incredibly well. I talk, it writes (into a Word file for me) almost exactly what I say. Of course, it will not get every word perfectly, but perhaps 95% to 99%, which is good enough, since I can speak about 4 times faster than I can type. If youre a writer, doing documents, drafts, etc., this product can save you a huge amount of time, and make you much more efficient.

> 3 dayThis program is, sadly, terrible. It lasts far behind your speech. Even though I purposefully speak slowly and clearly, the sentences come out garbled and unrecognizable. Words are missing. Sentences are truncated. It takes longer to edit the mess that comes out than it would have taken to simply type it. On fb I joined a group for this program, everyone says oh the home version? Haha, thats a joke. You must get the professional version. If they sold this to me and told me how wonderful it is and how much Id love it (and other outright lies) why the heck would I give them. MORE money and buy the pro version? Theres no support. The dashboard is confusing and unhelpful. When you look up the issues youre just told to delete your profile and create another one... In other words spend your life in teaching mode... Supposedly letting the program learn you speech (it never does). Terrible. Id give it negative 10 stars if I could. Greater than one weekThis program is not as easy as one would think. First thing you should do is buy a better set of headphones with the program. The pair that are included did pick up my voice well and caused me hours of frustration. It also does not work well if you are reading things like recipes. It clearly states that you should speak in a normal voice and at a normal pace, but reading a recipe doesnt always work that way. After about two hours of continually having to correct the word eggs I gave up. By the time I went back and corrected all the mistakes in the text it would have been faster to just type it myself. I would guess if I wanted to dictate letters or work on a term paper this would work fine, but its not what I purchased it for. What a pity.
