Very easy to install. Dont over tighten. Grips are comfortable if you like a large diameter grip. Would be a bit large for a small or medium hand

A must have upgrade for your mountain bike. Absolutely killer grip for the design, your hands really dig in with the design. Kind of a pain to get on though. Not as hard as getting on the little end caps but its manageable. HOWEVER... These things stabbed the s*** out of me. The surface of where the threading is had burrs and when I was working with them I got little pieces of metal jabbed it my thumb. I actually used high grit sandpaper to smooth it out and make sure I didnt get stuck again. Highly recommend but be careful and inspect for burrs before handling.

I bought these grips for my fiancée, who broke her hand awhile back and needed a bit of a softer, larger grip. The grip is a bit larger than some of the thin ones, like stock Bontragers or ODI Ruffians, but thinner than Oury grips. The rubber is also a bit tacky (but not sticky), so it grips really securely and nicely to the hand, but the grip is not mushy. Lock-On grips are the only way to go on for serious mountain biking, as they dont twist around or work their way off the bars. This bonus pack comes with two grips, two sets of clamps (four clamps), two sets of screws (four screws, hidden in one of the grips), and two bar plugs that get popped into the outside clamp and locked on, not like the shoddy ones that insert into the bar tube. The clamps come loose and are a bit hard to get on the grip itself; I used a soft mallet and gently tapped them on one at a time, with the grip vertical on a soft mat. The clamps are the same for the inside and outside of the grip. Mount the clamps onto the grips first, then put a cap on one side of each, and then slide them onto the bars. Position the grips and then screw the clamp down, taking care not to over-torque the screws. The clamping action is pretty strong, and you shouldnt need to torque down hard to make them tight enough not to slip. ODI grips are made in the USA. My fiancée and I ride cross country and enduro/all mountain. We have Titus Xs. I also bought the ODI Ruffians, a thinner grip, for my bike and love them.

Run these on all my mountain bikes. A little thicker than most grips, and chunky tread on the grip ensures no slipping. A little fragile especially if you wash out goofing around hitting corners hard or clip the occasional rock. The price is such that it’s not a big deal and when they brake throw a fresh set on and the old ones in the trash.

Ive been on a journey with a 2003 GT Palomar. I didnt care for how it rode, fit or shifted, when it was given to me new in 2004. So after a few short rides it was put in shed. When it saw daylight for a ride in 2013, it was hit on the rear wheel by a car. The wheel was bent so badly that I was barely able to limp it home with the V-brakes removed and pads released. Then it went back in the shed. In 2021, it saw daylight again as I was going to junk it. I didnt think the cost of a wheel straightening, or new wheel and tune up at a bike shop was justified on a 20 year old $230 bicycle. But, it but it had less than 100 miles on it and seemed to be comparable with some new bikes in the $500 and up range. So I cleaned it up and figured Id try to fix, service and sell it. I watched videos and fixed the indexed shifting and straightened the wheel. Then gave the old GT a full teardown and service. On a test ride, it was smoother and quieter than anything Id ever owned and I figured no one would give me what I felt it was worth. It also had a Chrome Moly frame that I prefer over the ride of the newer aluminum frames. So, I decided to try to make it fit me better instead of selling it. I replaced the stock seat post with an Orign8 400mm and the bars with Bucklos risers to make the bike fit better. It fit better, but still wasnt right. So, I thought new grips would feel better and might help with the fit and handling issues. Based on some research and reviews, I decided to try the ODI grips. Especially as several reviews mentioned that they were comfortable and fit larger hands. Even though they were longer than the 100mm stock grips on the GT, I ordered them in. Hindsight being 20/20, I ordered these grips, before trying to simulate how a 130mm grip would feel on my bars with the grip shifters. When I simulated a narrower hand position on the bars during a ride, I found that the bike feel worse. But, when I tried a wider hand placement on the bars, the bike rode better. So I figured when the ODI grips arrived, Id return them and began searching for grips that seemed as plush as the ODI, but narrower than the stock 100mm grips I had. Unfortunately, I didnt find anything else I wanted to try. When the ODI grips arrived and I put my hands around them, they felt great. They are very comfortable. Firm, but have give when squeezed and are not slick on a bare hand. They are also larger, outer diameter, than my stock grips. But, they were too long for what I wanted. After looking at how the grips are constructed and how the locking rings work, I decided to try to modify them to meet my needs. I took a measurement, a deep breath and felt stupid taking a hacksaw to these brand new grips. A utility knife and file were also used to complete the job. In the end, the modification worked perfectly and the grips are maybe 80mm now. They solidly lock on to the bars, feel great and work perfectly with my Revoshift shifters. Ive done about 100 miles so far, bare hands and with light gloves, both on pavement and light trails. All has been good and comfortable. No regrets on this purchase and will be buying a set to replace the old Ourys on my 2006 Cannondale F2000SL. Please know the grips did not solve my riding and handling problems. I found more videos on riding position and eventually, after gradually lowering my seat about 1/2 and moving it forward about 1/4, the bike became a great handling, stable, ride. I also played with rolling my bars, shifters and brake levers slightly forward and backward. Hope this helps and ride safe.

I put some RaceFace carbon bars on my bike which are stiff, light, durable and great looking - but really unforgiving. They beat my hands up. I added these grips for a little extra cush- and voila - problem solved. So far they are comfy and durable and were a breeze to install. Ive gotten a ton of riding in on them in insanely hot and humid weather. I do wear thin gloves, and they have been perfect.

Use: MTN Biking Experience level: Advanced The increased diameter of these grips was just what I needed to spread pressure out on my hands to stop the soreness and numbness I was getting with my thinner ODI grips. The grip and feel were excellent. Nothing to distract you on really technical sections of trail. No slipping. If you are having problems with sore and/or numb hands or just like a chunkier grip and need something for high performance MTB riding, give these a try; They should improve your riding experience.
