> 3 dayLoved how this machine felt and looked coming out of the box. All the specs checked out perfectly for what I wanted. I researched projectors for a few weeks and thought this would be the best bang for the buck. Unfortunately after just 2 days of use watching tv programs and a few movies the bulb/machine is causing flickering and pixelation on the screen. Don’t know even if it’s even worth keeping at this $800 price point.

> 3 dayThere could be two reviews for this one. When I fiest opened it and try it I was very happy for the price and quality of picture that I had. Unfortunately after one week the hdmi1 stopped working suddenly a purple led came up and the controller didn’t worked. I tried some customer support but their directions wasn’t helping so I decided to return this product. After looking the market I feel I want to give this another try ordering a new one because like I said, I was happy with the first outcome, so I’m crossing my fingers it was a bad unit and give this another try. Hopefully I can comeback in couple of months and do an update. I would recommend this letting people know is a delicate product and also advising to get the extra coverage in case something happen like me.

Greater than one weekNo projector lens cover! WHAT?! Amazon fulfilment ships a $800 projector in the manufacture box! Seriously. Lens has small scratches. Buyer beware. The manual says the projector lens caps is an option some countries. Makes no sense, the projector says new, I suspect it was a return and the lens didnt make it back. Called Optoma customer service and they do not sell the lens cap. Ridiculous.

Greater than one weekI bought this to do a house mapping project and its bright and great colors. As for home theater use, if you havent used a short throw, it will take time to get used to but the picture is great.

> 3 dayI put it in my garage for my mancave...and i must say its perfect, if you have a open white wall, dont get a screen, it will be a waste of money. It shows up that good in a medium dark area. Im about 5 ft away and its shooting about 140 inches.

Greater than one weekSet this up in my garage. The photo I included is 150 inch projection with the projector sitting about five or six feet away. The projector screen was $150 i think. The black bars at top and bottom were added by the movie. Given what I paid for it I think the image quality is very good. Have been using it very regularly. It will not do well with too much ambient light. So if it was 3 or 4:00 p.m. with the light coming through my garage door windows at just the wrong time, I wouldnt be able to really enjoy the golf event though I would be able to see it. Obviously the projector speakers are not great so I connected a Bose soundtouch speaker. Small but sounds good
