I only got to use this projector for about 3 months when the screen started flashing suddenly and shutoff. I tried to order a new lightbulb and color wheel only to find out that invalidated my warranty. BUYER BEWARE this is either a terrible projector or a ripoff that Amazon allowed to be sold on their site, either way I paid $800 for something that lasted less than 3 months and thats just a bad product I was completely ripped off.

This projector is twice as expensive as my old BenQ projector and its half as good. Bottomline - No matter what I do (tried every setting imaginable) I cant get rid of the screen door effect. The diagonal gridlines are severely distracting. The only thing that works is focusing it so poorly that all text becomes blurry, which is of course not an option. Oh and a more minor concern (but worth mentioning) the speakers are the worst Ive ever heard on a projector. I regret my purchase big time.

I bought an open-box (Like-New) projector, but they sent a very old version of it and it is not working too.

I have an old Dell projector thats rated 2000 lumens and the new Optima 1090HDRx I just setup next to it was rated at 4200 lumens. I made them similar size knowing they probably rate lumens on aspect ratio size, with similar white projected and to my dismay, the optima is not performing at 2x the brightness it claims to be. Very disappointed. Will be sending this back most likely.

Amazing projector for the cost. I’m a gamer and the latency on this projector when in “enhanced gaming mode” is virtually unnoticeable. The picture is incredible and the brightness makes it useful even in daylight. Very easy setup as well. I don’t even use a screen, just a wall, and the quality is phenomenal. I spent weeks researching my options, landed here and don’t regret my purchase at all. Worth every cent!

I previously owned a projector from a lesser known brand that I bought from a dude on eBay (well, I mean, I still do, but you know what I mean); and it was fine, it served its purpose well, particularly when it was completely dark. Then one day my cheap projector screen, which purported to be 100, just kept falling (my fault. It was basically a sheet with grommets that I was hanging from the ceiling with command hooks), so I bought a new one that was entirely self contained within its own stand. Well, that one, despite being advertised as the same size, was actually a lot bigger than the other one, and there was basically nowhere in my entire apartment where I could put that projector and have it fill that whole screen. So I knew the time was right to invest the money into a short throw projector. And holy crap does this have a short throw. The 100 screen I recently got is maybe 6-8 feet in front of me - and to fill the whole screen the projector has to be in front of me too. I tried to place it next to the couch and zoom out but just couldnt get the right angle on it. The image quality is light years beyond my previous projector, and paired with my sound bar its like being at the movies, but on my couch. After I got it, I ordered the AEW pay per view and invited my drummer over. He walked in the living room and said, are we at the movies? So yeah, while it may be a bit pricier than I like to pay for... well... anything at all, really, if you have a small space but still want that theater experience, I definitely recommend this projector.

Entire disappointing nightmare from Optoma AND Amazon here -- bought this from Amazon and was excited by the brightness and short throw capabilities of this projector, but out of the box the unit would freeze and shut down if i tried to change inputs and only start up with input correctly connected 1/10 times (requiring an unplug and re-plug to solve) I contacted Amazon to return the defective unit and they told me it was past the return window (?) but that they would connect me with Optoma. Amazon associate set up a 3 way call with Optoma support, who was incredibly rude but finally and condescendingly told me to submit an RMA to return the unit to Optoma for repair. I submitted an RMA and shipped the unit up -- weeks later I got an incredibly rude email from Optoma insisting that nothing was wrong with the unit and that they would be shipping it back. I insisted that there was a real issue that required repair and they refused and told me theyd ship my unit back. Over a month has gone by and my unit has not been returned and countless emails and calls to Optoma have gone un-acknowledged. I called Amazon yesterday and encountered an awful employee that told me first, that the unit could have been returned to Amazon initially after all, that the original support contact Id made at Amazon kept no notes of our interaction, so theres no proof of this existing -- and that theres no way for me to get a refund because theres no paper trail of the situation. So now Im out $850+ with no projector and no response from Optoma or Amazon -- big fail across the board
