> 3 dayI bought this product based on its reviews. However, my experience with it was horrible. First, the device always had HDCP errors. I tried fixing the errors by changing my HDMI cable and picture source (DVD player, cable box, Roku Bar), but I was never able to get rid of those erros entirely. I know the problem is from this projector because when I connected the same setting to an Epson projector or a Samsung TV, there were no errors at all. Second, even when there were no HDCP errors, the picture brightness and quality was below par. I am not sure if the problem is in my specific item or the product is of poor quality. What made things worse is that I was charged a high restocking fee when I return it.

Greater than one weekI loved this projector when we first bought it. We use it in the living room instead of a tv, but I have owned this less than a year and already there are a ton of dead pixels all over the screen. will not buy another projector from this brand again

> 3 dayThe picture quality is great. Was on the fence about maybe getting a 4k projector, but realized how unnecessary it was for me. 1080p is perfect. The brightness is great. Sometimes I darken the room, but it isnt necessary most of the time. The input lag is so low, I dont notice it. Even when Im playing a FPS like Halo Infinite. It creates a good amount of heat (like any projector) and the built in speakers are awful. But who cares about that? I bought a cheap sound bar and Im very happy with the whole set up.

> 3 dayI was excited to get this but after some usage that excitement started to fade away. First theres no lens cap with the unit. The picture quality is decent when I can get it to project something. I was using an IPad and an XBox with this and after connecting to HDMI it did not want to project anything, just a black screen. After a few minutes of unplugging and restarting I had success but it doesnt seem to always work the first time. The fan is really quiet and probably too quiet as the unit gets hot and has a burning smell to it. I had to shut it off after an hour or so of use as the smell was getting worse. Not sure if I have a defective unit or what but unfortunately I will be returning this one and getting a replacement and hope the next one doesnt have these issues.

> 3 dayHusband and I bought this to replace a similar Optoma DLP projector that we had for ~6 years. For the same price point now, this one is way brighter. We used to have to wait until dark to see anything properly on a projector, but this one is still super clear in the middle of the day (barring direct sunlight of course). That aspect alone is worth the upgrade for us, because we can get way more use out of it. The picture is very good; colors are bright and accurate. I also love the focus knob; since its so big, it offers very fine control and its easy to get it focused perfectly. The only cons I have are small: (1) It takes a really long time to turn on and switch inputs compared to other projectors Ive had. Not a big deal, just a little annoying. (2) No dust filter! I dont know why Optoma doesnt think dust filters are necessary. Apparently they only include them in dusty climates, whatever that means. Without one, dust will collect in the projector and make it more likely to overheat and have parts break down (thats what happened to our last one multiple times). If you are tech savvy enough, you can open the projector up every so often and vacuum the dust out to make sure the projector lasts a long time. Also just make sure you place it in a well-ventilated spot / not right up against a wall and definitely not in an enclosed space like a cubby shelf. Dont just rely on the projector telling you when its too hot, something could be damaged or starting to melt a little before the built-in sensors go off. For future reference, if something does go wrong, dont be afraid to fix it yourself. The most common issue Ive had with DLP projectors is a bad color wheel. If your colors start flashing weirdly and you hear whirring/clicking from the projector, its probably the color wheel. You can get a new one online for <$30 and replace it yourself. Just look up a video.

> 3 dayI am not sure if i got a defective unit or simply that is a bad product. I can only base my review on my experience. I got this new projector to replace my old unit. Short to realize that my old unit with way lower specs perform 10 times better. This is why i returned on the spot. Looking for a better option. Hope i am not basing my review on no a simple bad unit

Greater than one weekI bought this product last December, and I have been using it in a daily basis. Its been 6 months and the project broke down. Two red lights blinking, and the project doesnt work anymore. I bought from amazon US and it shipped to me to Saudi Arabia. I tried to contact optpma but they werent helpful at all. I need help. Im tired of trying but nobody answers back.
