I have had this projector slightly over a year. At first, it was great, no issues. Then slowly a few things started to pop up. Once in a while, all of the images have a green hue. I reset and it is fine. However, the biggest issue is that it is NOT as bright as they say and it seems to be getting worse. I probably average an hour of use a day, so at under 500 hours, I should not notice a huge drop. It has become so hard to see images that I literally need all lights turned off if I am going to try and watch something. I also notice several flickering if an image is panning around. That said, it is the lack of brightness that is driving me nuts. I wrote to optoma and they told me I would have to pay to fix it. Why would I spend more money on a 1 year old overpriced unit? Ill be avoiding Optoma in the future.

Needed something to replace a fried Epson projector and this one exceeded my expectations, especially at the price point.

I bought this to replace a four-year-old Optima HD143X 1080p 3000. This has a much better-quality picture than the older one. 4000 lumens versus 3000 lumens, plus this is 4K which the other was not. The other was half the price so I have no complaint on that. This gives a sharper, brighter image. Much better color. This will show a good picture even when there is light in the room. You do not have to be blacked out. I can watch this comfortably even with the overhead lights on. My only problem with optima is that their remotes are not the easiest to navigate. After a few months of using this with no problem, I started having an issue each and every time I turn it on, the picture starts up distorted. All I have to do to correct this is press the HDMI selector button. A minor inconvenience. So far, the picture is incredible. I am happy with this optima. It is well worth the difference in price from the old one. Update: Problem solved. I needed to plug the usb to an electric outlet

I did not own any other projector before this. I have a huge love for cinema so I decided to create a home theater on a budget with no help. I did not want to buy a cheap one and suffer with the quality, so I took the chance and invested in this one. I did hours upon hours of research, trying to see which one would be the highest quality under 1,000. There wasnt much information on this one compared to some more popular models so it was hard to make a decision especially with how untrustworthy some of the reviews can be on this website. I am very pleased and relieved to say that this was one of the best purchases that I have ever made. I use it almost every single day, I even use it to play competitive video games. The input delay is nonexistent, it is truly incredible. Such good quality too, the movies look incredible. I could not recommend this more, you will not be disappointed.

    Greater than one week

I upgraded from an older, albeit top of the line (multiple thousands of dollars) projector to this one, and I have to say its very impressive at this price point. The picture quality is amazing and is compatible with the new PS5 games. Set up and control is simple. A small negative is screen adjustment is a little basic, not a huge issue, but I have a theatre room that has a painted outlined/bordered wall for a screen so I can get it to fit perfectly. I would love a response from the company because this troubling issue is happening when I power on sometimes and it wont connect to the input, sometimes it will load and skip, other times stay steady with load/searching text; I have to navigate thru other input options to get it to sync up and finally load the PS5 input. Would recommend tho after trying a few other projectors around this price point.

I came from an Optoma gt1080 short throw projector when i moved to a new apartment. The HD39HDR is pretty great. The only flaws that Ive noticed are things that I *could* fix, like perfect placement so that I dont have to use keystone/zoom, but I dont have the patience. I have it connected to my gaming PC via hdmi, and i love it. I watch movies, play AAA games, and surf the web, on a 100 diagonal screen, from ~12 away. It all just works. The price has only gotten better. If you need a totally respectable 1080p projector, this is a great choice.
