Greater than one weekThis roller works great in my thrift store find, found a Orick. vacuum at Goodwill for $5.00. It just needed taken apart, cleaned and as long as your doing all that may as well replace the roller. I’ve been very pleased with my $5.00 investment, I also replaced the bag hanging apparatus. It was cracked

> 3 dayInstallation was quick and easy and the roller was a perfect fit. Amazed that I waited so many years to do this replacement- the old roller had virtually no bristles left ( but it still seemed to pick up dirt very well).

> 3 daySuper fast shipping of original manufacturer parts at a very reasonable price! After a very easy install (I watched a short utube video first) these two items truly transformed my vacuum! I wont wait so long next time.

Greater than one weekFrom a mans perspective! Its the holiday season and I have picked up some of the slack around the house by doing some dusting and vacuuming after all the Christmas decorations are put out. I could not believe how HARD it was to vacuum, it was a real workout. No kidding, i was sweating pushing the Oreck vacuum. I asked my wife about what was wrong and she said, Nothing is wrong, it just pushes hard! There is no way it should be that hard to push a vacuum. After a very little research I found that replacing the roller was all that was needed. This roller took less than 5 minutes to install, just look at the old roller before removing it and the orientation will be obvious. After installation, NEW SWEEPER! Glides over the carpet like it should. And here is the interesting thing, the old roller had brushes that look really good. So if your Oreck pushes hard, replace this roller.

> 3 dayIve had my Oreck XL for 20 years, & am ashamed to say I have never changed the brush/belt. It hadnt worked great for a while, but chalked it up to old age, & decided to see if it could be repaired so did some research. When I opened it up, the belt while in 1 piece, was all chewed up with a big hole in it. How the heck it never snapped I dont know, & the brush was just sad looking, so no wonder it didnt work well. The hardest part was getting the new belt on since its tight, & the brush roller is wood, like the original. I tested it out, & it was like a new vacuum, glided as smooth as silk & actually picked up stuff. I was so happy I vacuumed the whole house & apologized to the vacuum since it had been suffering so badly all this time. :)

Greater than one weekAppears to be an excellent replacement part. I have not yet installed the brush so have no experience with product durability. It seems to be of much higher quality than the Oreck branded replacement part with a better belt roller and better bearings. It is most certainly sold at a better price point.

> 3 dayParts (Oreck brush and belt) worked well with the QVC Oreck that I ordered years ago. The vaccum stopped picking up and was difficult to push. I thought the belt was broken. However, it was not. I was not paying $101.00 again to have my vaccum serviced (although I was told the service was free and that was the cost of the brush!). I purchased my own parts on Amazon and followed YouTube video to do my own tune up. Vaccum is working again. The brush and belt were easy to install and suction power is back in full force.

> 3 dayI was almost going to take my 12 year old Oreck XL (great vacuum) to a vacuum repair shop, but decided to take it apart myself and take a stab at it. Turns out it was pretty easy to figure out the problem. The roller had so much hair and lint and string caught in the turn-y pieces that it couldnt turn anymore, and was burning up belts. I cleaned out what I could but it still wouldnt turn as easily as it should. I am sure the lubrication in the turny pieces was gone after so many years and that there was more stuff stuck in there I couldnt reach. I ordered this, snapped it in place, replaced the belt and my vacuum works like new - in fact I forgot how great my vacuum was, as it had probably been working sub-optimally for a couple years. Ive seen some people complain that Oreck didnt make a roller that could prevent this problem from happening in the first place, but in my opinion a $12 replacement part after over a decade of regular use is a small price to pay to keep my vacuum working well. Im happy.
