I needed belts and for a couple dollars more this kit included 3 belts and a brush. The belts were comparable in quality to the OEM. The brush didnt have quite the fit and finish of OEM but it installed easily and fit perfectly. I thought my old brush was fine, but noticed that it was worn down about half way compared to the new brush. After a cleanup, installation of the new belt and brush I remembered why I loved the Orecks so much. This kit brought new life and pride in my old vacuum. It also feels good having the spare belt in the spare belt holder again as well.

My Oreck XL is around 20 years old. For some reason I put it away. I dug this back out 2 weeks ago and took it apart to clean and noticed my belt was broken and my brush was pretty much junk. Probably why I put it away. These fit perfectly and its like I have a new vacuum.

From a mans perspective! Its the holiday season and I have picked up some of the slack around the house by doing some dusting and vacuuming after all the Christmas decorations are put out. I could not believe how HARD it was to vacuum, it was a real workout. No kidding, i was sweating pushing the Oreck vacuum. I asked my wife about what was wrong and she said, Nothing is wrong, it just pushes hard! There is no way it should be that hard to push a vacuum. After a very little research I found that replacing the roller was all that was needed. This roller took less than 5 minutes to install, just look at the old roller before removing it and the orientation will be obvious. After installation, NEW SWEEPER! Glides over the carpet like it should. And here is the interesting thing, the old roller had brushes that look really good. So if your Oreck pushes hard, replace this roller.

We recently had to replace the belt on our Orek and saw the beater bar was pretty old. Ordered the parts and had it up and running in 15 min. Super easy to do!

I was almost going to take my 12 year old Oreck XL (great vacuum) to a vacuum repair shop, but decided to take it apart myself and take a stab at it. Turns out it was pretty easy to figure out the problem. The roller had so much hair and lint and string caught in the turn-y pieces that it couldnt turn anymore, and was burning up belts. I cleaned out what I could but it still wouldnt turn as easily as it should. I am sure the lubrication in the turny pieces was gone after so many years and that there was more stuff stuck in there I couldnt reach. I ordered this, snapped it in place, replaced the belt and my vacuum works like new - in fact I forgot how great my vacuum was, as it had probably been working sub-optimally for a couple years. Ive seen some people complain that Oreck didnt make a roller that could prevent this problem from happening in the first place, but in my opinion a $12 replacement part after over a decade of regular use is a small price to pay to keep my vacuum working well. Im happy.

Bought this because my vacuum did not pick up little bits of lint/small dirt, and im glad i did. The brush underneath was rolled up in lint string and hair, once i removed it, found out the belt was also done too. once i replaced both, it was like having a brand new vacuum. so what im saying is for the price...why not? cheaper then getting a new one.
