I have revised this review since this cable is junk in less than 6 months and after only 3 uses. I perform Time Machine backups on my MacBook Pro every 2 months and attempted to perform a backup yesterday. I plugged in the drive using the OWC cable and the drive was seen but Time Machine wouldnt allow me to choose it even though ive already used this drive for TM backups on this machine. I plugged in the short 8 cable that came with my thunderbolt ssd and then I was able to perform the TM backup. This would have been my 4th backup with this cable to an external thunderbolt 2TB ssd and after each backup, the cable goes back in the package so it hasnt been abused. I didnt even get the use from this cable that I would expect from the cheapest thunderbolt cable on Amazon at 50% of the cost. I purchased this OWC because I wanted something better and longer to replace the cheap 8 thunderbolt cable that was included with the TB ssd- unfortunately, I didnt get a better cable, only a longer cable. I know that there is supposedly a 3 year warranty on this cable but if it didnt even make it 6 months, theres no point in wasting any further time with OWC or this product. At $8.66 for every 5 minutes I it worked, I will call it a lesson learned and move on. (Original 4 star review) I dont really know what to say other than it works on Thunderbolt3 as expected and the price was fair, especially for an OWC product (OWC tends to be pricey). Im using this cable for TB3 right now but wanted to future proof since I suspect my laptop will be replaced in a couple more years and will likely have TB4. I had a very short TB3 cable that came with an external drive and needed something longer so I purchased this. It does the job and the speed is comparable to the other TB3 cable. All good so far and hopefully it will last awhile.

Used it for a laptop with a station and it works amazing. Bought two of them one to power my laptop and one to connect to the station. Pretty pricey but I understand it’s newer tech. If I ever need Thunderbolt 4 I will probably buy this again

It’s long, and it works. Not a lot of long Thunderbolt 4 cables out there. This one is affordable, too. Winner!

I was looking for a thunderbolt cable for the mac on DFU mode. After search in amazon and find this one so I order it. It works well to connect 2 Macs together under DFU and restore the BridgeOs. Im highly recommend this cable if youre looking for a thunderbolt to thunderbolt.

Il cavo è ben fatto e a differenza di altri suoi concorrenti ha anche un esttica gradevole e un connettore più corto. Le velocità e la potenza di carica emessa, sono nella norma al pari di un altro suo concorrente blasonato. La lunghezza di 75 cm è la cosa più strana: non è da mezzo metro, utile per connessioni con tavoli di poco spazio, non è da un metro, se le prese fossero più distanti. Una stranezza commentata negativamente anche sul web.

Extremely slow. Attached to brand new MacBook Pro. Download a folder from card reader. Took almost twice as long as my ISB-C cables. I tried 3 different ones.

***This is not much of a product review*** I like the idea from Amazon US on your lighter-packaging-matters campaign and Im all for it. However, it went a little too far too light-weigh with your international delivery (US to Hong Kong). In short, there is no protective padding whatsoever between the product (which is not box - its just a usb c data cable to be fair from OWC) and the Amazon lighter-packaging plastic bag. The result, the journey took a toll on the package and theres a slight dent to the metal casing of one end of the male connectors and renders the cable failing to plug into my usb c ports (hence this is not a product review as I have no way to test it nor I can confirm if OWC has sent me a faulty item) ***This is not much of a product review*** If OWC has a hand in the packaging process together with Amazon US, please do something about it - I had an older version of the same thing from OWC and it has been a reliable workhorse of a cable (until it final died on me a couple of weeks ago) and I am finding myself still in search for a new one. Its pointless to connect Thunderbolt 4 components with cheap cables which can limit the flow of both data and power. OWC is well known for their T4 hubs and docks and they know whats needed in a cable to achieve the full benefit of the Thunderbolt 4 specification. This cable is very well made, flexible, and the 1M length is just right to connect a dock with the computer.

OWC quality is so high I even prefer them to genuine Apple cables. I highly recommend this Thunderbolt 4 cable.

The cable works great, but it comes with a very distracting sticker on it. Removing the sticker leaves behind sticky residue. I tried using Goo Gone, but that ended up making the cable even more gummy and sticky. I think it would be much better if they left these cables stickerless, like the one that came with the OWC Thunderbolt Hub. I also prefer the look and matte finish of the thunderbolt hub cable over this one.
