Patriot Steel - 1095 High Carbon Knife Making & Forging Steel 12x1.5x.125 (Four Pack)

Got these great 4 pieces of steel yesterday. I am a beginner and looking forward to start on my knifemaking adventure. After a small glitch in the delivered items, customer service was quick to straighten things out. I hope to use Patriot Steel for any future steel needs.

First couple times I bought it everything was fine but, this latest order is going on a week late and hadnt been shipped last I checked.

I ordered the 4 pack of 1095 high carbon steel just to try them out and see if this company might be better than who i usually get 1095 from 1- packaging was not the best basically the four pieces stuck together with packaging tape on both ends no effort to try to keep rust from forming 2- these were shear cut which leaves rough sides and anyone who has ever used a shear knows the pieces always have some sort of defect primarily a bow which with the pieces that is what has happened 3- as far as the finish its pretty good no deep gouges or scrapes so thats a plus 4- all in all i think i will stick with who i normally my steel from like i said these arent the best but they are not the worst i have dealt with either but as a custom knife maker the more time I spend fixing issues the more time it takes to make a knife which means less productivity and less $$

Everything arrived on time as described my only disappointment was my fault I seen them and thought the flags were etched into the metal I was hoping to be able to work around them and have the flags on my final product unfortunately it is only a stamp that wipes right off guess I’m going to learn how to put the flags on myself

Product is ok. Edge are beveled as if the were press cut. Not precision ground. For price and shipping overall good product

Nathan, the owner of this company is a class act and he knows his product inside and out. I would definitely recommend Patriot Steel as it is most certainly a superior product to Mr. Volcano steel.

Made 5 knife blades and they are great hold a good edge,great steel to work with.

I’ve made a few knives so far out of this steel and I like it. Hardens well and works pretty well too. Finished knives hold their edges pretty well. Overall, I would recommend this steel.
