Dielectric grease as youd expect. Similar appearance, feel and thickness as petroleum jelly. I think some people think that you use dielectric grease to increase conductivity in circuits. It has the opposite effect. Dielectric means that it slows or stops the flow of electrons. The purpose is to keep unsealed wires and connectors from getting corroded when exposed to the elements. The dielectric keeps oxidation or galvanic corrosion from occurring. That oxidation or corrosion could eventually case the circuit to fail, so dielectric grease has the effect of preserving electrical connections. It is also a waterproofer to keep the circuit dry and a lubricant to help fit connectors together (like sliding a tight spark plug wire over the spark plug). A little goes a long way.

There is plenty of grease in this tube for more than a dozen applications. Use a thin coat and check back a couple of weeks on results after a thorough cleaning of your battery terminals. If you are continually getting corrosion with Permatex then you more than likely have a battery thats leaking acid vapor. Happened to me and replacing a near dead battery cleared the problem after I also noticed drippage on the backside of the battery.

I use this tuff at work on batteries and wanted to have the stuff for home use on light connections on the stern light on a boat to keep out the moisture.

I got this as Ive seen Taeha types sometimes recommend it for lubing stabilizers for mechanical keyboards, and it definitely gets the job done. I had a DROP ALT-HIGH PROFILE mechanical keyboard and the mods definitely needed to be modified as they sounded pretty bad, and I used this dielectric grease to lube all the mods and after also clipping the stabs and doing the band-aid mod, it sounded much better. You could also use krytox 205G0 for stabs but this would probably cost you much less money in the long run and also does a good job. :)

Works exactly as I need, and will probably last me 30+ years, since I bought a tiny tube 5 years ago and only used half of it before losing it.
