I was nothing but excited for these games but they have been very frustrating and huge disappointment. If you enjoy cut scenes and obtaining items that allow functionality to the game then this game is for you. For those who dont know what Im talking about, the game is filled with a ton of cut scenes. About 3 hours into the game and I havent really made much progress because probably 2 hours were spent watching cut scenes and reading through dialog, that most of the time explained nothing and had zero relevance to the plot. Just let me play Pokemon! The creators of the Lets Go series hit the nail on the head and should have been the ones who created this game. Further more, the fact that I have to locate a completely random NPC in a city to enable sound control is asinine. The background music is incredibly loud the majority of the time (until you find the NPC) and can be incredibly annoying. I played with the game muted up until I found the NPC and was able to turn the music volume down from 8 to 4 (Max being 10). Overall the game had good intensions but incredibly poor execution, especially for it being the first flagship Pokemon game for the Switch. I refer to Sword and Shield as flagship Pokemon on the Switch because Lets Go was a Pokemon Yellow remake.

its a Pokemon game what did you expect! they did pretty good with some of the new concepts, and the online map is pretty awesome, raid battles can take a moment to understand, but can be a fun way to hang out with friends.

I was checking prices and this pack totals about $128 with tax, the two games separate are about $124...

I ordered my dual pack from another store because I wanted the exclusive and it came a day early. The game is pretty fun so far and I like a lot of things. I had been avoiding leaks, but I finally decided that I really want to know what pokemon didnt make the cut. This is the first pokemon game not to have the complete pokedex. Im so mad at this game for leaving out my favorite pokemon! How in the world did starters not make it? Bulbasaur and Squirtle among lots of other starters that didnt make the cut! Pokemon go has been a worldwide phenomenum and really got people familiar with gen 1 pokemon, so it seems a poor choice to cut Dragonite and Exeggutor. My favorite silly pokemon like Jigglypuff, Slowpoke, Lickitung and Psyduck didnt make it. More than half of the total Pokemon arent in this game! I do play for a good game. I do play for adventure. I do play to see new pokemon. I play for a lot of reasons, but I certainly play to play with MY pokemon. I cant believe that this is the first game to not let me do that. I wish I hadnt opened it so I could return it. Its fun to play the main story with new faces, but I cant believe my Pokemon are totally missing even from post-game. Its insane that the price of the games goes up by 50% this generation while the number of Pokemon available is cut by more than 60%!!! A franchise that brings in so much money can certainly afford to hire enough people to do this right.

I really do enjoy Pokemon Sword and Shield; however, feel like the game was not as thought out as it could have been. For starters, Sword and Shield are the same exact game; the only difference is that there are two different gyms in Shield than there are in Sword, and a few other different Pokemon to catch. Other than that; theyre identical, down to the story line. Additionally, I was really hoping that, when you play one and then move to the other, it would pick up your profile from the other one, meaning that you didnt have to replay the exact same story over again, and that youd have all your Pokemon youd already caught, ready to continue adding an entirely new set of Pokemon to your Pokedex. However, again, its the exact same game, and it forces you to start all over again, from ground zero, with no Pokemon, going through the same story, catching the same Pokemon. Also, the online functionality of the game is very bugged. When setting up trades and such, its supposed to connect you to the internet, but sometimes it doesnt, so youre just roaming around waiting for a trade to happen that never will, because it isnt actually connected. If you pay attention to the fact that there arent any other players appearing in the game, or that the online icon hasnt turned blue, then its obvious, but if youre in your own little world, doing your own thing, you might not notice this. There are also lots of communication errors trying to complete trades online. When trying to join an online raid battle, or broadcasting your own raid battle for others to join, it never finds a match either way, yet you see others out in the field looking for people to join, constantly. Finally, I feel like, for such a large game, and such a wealthy company, they could have spent a little more time to add a few more character models to the game; seriously, youll run into 20 different NPCs that all look exactly the same. I guess I was just expecting more from Pokemons first real set of 3D rendered games.

I absolutely loved Pokemon Ultra Sun/Moon (3DS) and was super disappointed by Pokemon Let’s Go in comparison so my hopes were high with these ones. I was very satisfied with these games because they included all the good parts of Ultra Sun/Moon that Lets Go didn’t have (e.g. wonder trade, larger Pokédex, broader main plot/challenge). I love the added features that come with Dynamax. It feels like playing in raids in Pokemon Go only less of a pain and you get tons of rewards from it. I’ve yet to fully explore all the features but I love these.
