I got the World Edition print of this game instead of the NA print, they both work the same I’m just bothered by the sticker on the front. The photo I used is what it actually looks like

Ive only been playing the game for a couple hours but the new editions to the game are immediately noticeable. A few new places to check out, new but old Pokemon to catch and some additions to the story. I dont want to go into too much detail because this is something any Pokemon fan or gamer should just get and play! Im enjoying it so far.

Lets see.... They made the intro faster to where you choose your starter. Added some new Pokemon (Ultra Beast) Added some transformations for the legends. Added minigames Added Ultra Space for easy Shiny Pokémon including legendary Pokémon Added new Z moves Added a bit longer story The post game added the Battle Agency (basically Battle Factory), a new Team Rocket and battles against Giovanni, Maxi, Archie, Cyrus, Ghestis and Lysandre.

My son is still playing with it, two months later. He has the original version of Pokemon Sun and this is a good follow-up. Lots to do.

Defintely something you can spend days playing. For a Mom with a newborn its nice to have something I can pick up and put down as I need to. Especially when most popular games these days you cant pause. Ive loved the Pokemon games since the Red Version. I bought the regular Moon Version when it first came out and didnt think I would buy this version. I caved when I learned it would be the last Pokemon game on Nintendos handheld devices. Its definetely worth it. Its different enough and has enough extras packed in to make it a different yet fun experiences.

Preordered these games in excitement and received them on launch day. Played through them in the last 5 days and couldn’t be more disappointed... As someone who’s played Pokémon since Red, Blue, & Yellow (going on 18 years now), it really hurts to see how low gamefreak stopped for these “3rd versions”. Sun and Moon, despite their flaws, were such a fresh and beautiful reimagining of the franchise. The Hawaiian themed region, it’s culture and lore behind the excotic new Pokémon designs and the fleshed out characters were all amazing and made me fall in love with the series all over again. Sun and Moon truly felt like something special and it was a sign that the franchise was finally headed in a good direction again after the failed attempt that was Gen VI. But with these Ultra games, it feels as though game freak just got lazy, complacent, and ultimately decided to go for a cash grab rather than giving us one last great duo of games before leaving the DS family for good. And these games come off as possibly the worst in the series as a result. I still played through this game and made myself enjoy it because I already spent the $40 and don’t like to leave any of my games unfinished. But I just really hope this isn’t what we have to look forward to when the Pokémon main series finally makes it way to the Switch... For context... Pros + You can battle main villains and catch nearly all legendaries from past generations through convoluted means. It’s a bit of a goofy setup, but a fun and worthy addition. And it’s the only thing that kept me from given it a 1 star rating. Cons.. - These are the same games as Sun and Moon! Slight colorful changes to the UI and music (while nice) don’t make for a new game. - The abundance of filler, game-halting dialogue and handholding from the SM remains, making the pace of the game excruciating. - The new mini games and areas aren’t terribly interesting or fun and serve as half-assed filler options. - You also HAVE to play through those mini games to progress the plot, further adding to that pacing problem. - The horrendous Festival Plaza wasn’t tweaked or fixed at all and remains as is. - The new ultra recon squad are interesting but never do anything of note. They’re just there... - The epic battle with Lusamine from SM was swaped for a stupid and predictable narrative change. - Necrozma’s Dusk and Dawn forms are ugly and uninspired. Worse than Kyurem’s forms from BW2. - Your rival’s Pokémon can follow him outside their Pokéball, but yours cannot... why? - Due to some other narrative changes, there are some Pokémon in the game who make appearances with their overworld sprites, much like the ones that were leaked in the data mines last year. But you never really get to interact with them in this way. Hugely missed opportunity! - Zygadre Cell collecting was replaced with totem stickers (100 in total). While much easier to find and less time consuming, the payoff is ultimately null since your reward for finding them all is a just an aesthetic bump to some select Pokémon and nothing else. - Hardly any new customization options were added for your player. Same hairstyles, only a couple new clothing options. - Post game content is lacking just like in Sun and Moon. Catch some legendaries, UB, battle old baddies, and swap out rentals to battle with. After that, you’re stuck with the same post game as last year’s. Why couldn’t we get a rich and expansive post game like with Emerald or Platinum?

Okay, so let me start by saying that if you own Pokemon Sun/Moon, then Ultra Sun/Moon doesnt have much more to offer. There are a few changes that does help a lot, and that includes seeing Pokemon out in the wild just living their peaceful lives while you go about your adventure. The changes in the story make things feel a bit fresher, and the post game story feels a bit simple, but its quite fun going through the Rainbow Rockets, whom are actually pretty tough, and quite funny to read their dialogues. Giovanni is a true badass though, but sadly that story is left inconclusive. There are other additions like buildings that were under construction in Sun/Moon, are now Picture Clubs or Surf Shacks in Ultra Sun.Moon. The Mantine surfing is also fun, to a certain degree, though it is hard to unlock new moves for higher scores. Overall, I do not like the game, but I do not dislike it either. I would, however, recommend it to someone that has not played the original Sun/Moon games, or to someone that really loves the franchise.

I beat sun and got this later when it came out. However I never beat this version for some reason. It actually got boring repeating so many of the same story elements over again so soon.

These games are some of my favourite from the franchise. I remember spending all of 2017 summer playing the original moon and all of 2018 holidays playing newly released ultra sun. The games themselves are great improvements on the originals, and if you played the originals and are wondering if these are worth it, Ill tell you right now that they are! These games are better than every pokemon game on the switch for me at least, and yes, that includes bdsp and legends arceus! Now for those of you who are curious about the version (World/UAE edition or North American). In short, nintendo have officially stopped making any games new or old for these devices earlier this year. Amazon in the last few years has also started to support third party providers for their products. This means that unless you are getting your game from a third party who somehow has these games new in North America, you will almost always get the UAE/World edition... What does this mean? Almost nothing! The game performs the exact same as a North American copy (assuming you have a NA 3ds/2ds/3ds xl/2ds xl). The only difference you will see is on the box art of the game case. It will have a little circle with UAE countries in it, but that is all! In simpler words... If you are seeing if these games are good or want to play them, this is a great purchase, but if you are a collector who wants a NA branded game case, this might not be the one for you.
