What I have to say is about the company Pioneer. This was my second and last Disc burner I will ever buy from them. The receptical on the burners are pathetic. They are so temperamental that even the slightest downward movement of the wire can cut off the power and readability of the burners. I have wasted time with projects failing to complete burning when its even over 90% done with the burn.

I stated in a review of a similar DVD burner product about spending a few more shekels to get something decent. This Blu Ray burner cost quite a bit more at $130 but it is well worth it as it does the job. I used it to test it and viewed the DVD on a large screen television. This one is a keeper for me as it works much quicker than the burners that come with the computers. Bottom line: Spending a bit more for a decent product will save you grief in the long run. Update 1: The cover tends to vibrate when in use. When I touch or move the burner the noise and vibration does stop. It doesnt appear to affect operation for now but my rating is going down to four stars for now. Update 2: Found the cause of the vibration as the drive needs a stable surface. I had it on top of a box instead. Upgraded the review to five stars. Update 3: Burner still going strong and gets a lot of use as of June 28, 2022. I wanted to state to those who buy this that it is a Blu Ray/DVD burner, not a player. Disks will not play on this. Also, one needs a DVD/BluRay burning program for it to work. I noticed several reviews in which they are upset the unit doesnt play disks.

I’ve purchased three of these…two were gifts. They’re fast and can handle any CD or DVD.

Works great to back up computer

So far it has worked flawlessly but I have not used one of the 10gb M disc yet.

A plug and play device into a powered USB port on the computer. Burns DVDs and BluRays with no problem. I like the clam shell opening on the top rather than the slide out on many DVD/BluRay burners. This does not come with burning software, I already have that so that was not a requirement for me.

Nice looking, functional, quiet. Not 5 stars because the door sticks.

Ive been using this for about 3 months now and it works very well. Ive been using it since working from home so I can read data sent to me on CD/DVD. I opted for the blu-ray so that I can also use it to digitize some of my blu-ray movies to the cloud. Ive not had any problems with it and would definitely recommend it to anyone!
