> 24 hourI have been using QuickBooks since 2003 and have always enjoyed this financial software. I use Quicken for my personal finances, but QuickBooks is far superior. The 2005 version is very similiar to pervious versions, but they have made it extremely user-friendly. I have a member of my staff who is not very computer savvy, but she has done very well with this QuickBooks program. The only complaint I have has been with the installation onto my new laptop computer. It was extremely difficult! I called the customer service line to get help and the man that helped me was quick in diagnosing the problem. He walked me through the entire installation process and was very friendly. That is why, even with the installation problems, I still give the 2005 version of QuickBooks 5 stars!

> 24 hourIf you dont upgrade QB doesnt let you do certain things and you loose options. However, the program is great and it dominates against competing products.

> 24 hourI recently got Quick Books 2005. The previous version I had was 2002. They have made so many chages in the program to make things easier. I love the newer version. I am not even an accountant, but the software makes it easy. :)

> 24 hourPurchased this software because I got a deal with a special price break. I have a very small business, so a purchase of several hundred dollars needs to pay back quickly. The set up took a lot longer than I had anticipated. The customer service was no help - couldnt answer my questions. I ended up spending 6 hours to get everything right - another day wasted. Ive got myself stuck with this now and will use for a few months since Ive spent the money, but Im going to look for alternatives in the meantime. If this is Quick Books, I need to find Lightning Fast Books somewhere.

> 24 hourI have been using QB for 7 years and every year or so they force you to upgrade (buy a new copy) becuase they stop supporting online banking. I have recently purchased Microsoft Small Business 2006 which I am going to migrate my cursed QB files to it and I will finaly have some decent software. Problems with QB It will not install sometimes - depending on the Windows installation it the install will crash. The Updates will crash periodically. It does not allow you to export reports to excel unless you have a Pro edition (Thanks) Also the interface online integration is circa 1990s I have recently upgraded to MS Money 2006 which rocks!!! GOOD RIDDENCE QUICK BOOKS !!!!!1

> 24 hourHaving used QuickBooks in my retail business for 7 years, I was gung-ho to upgrade to QB 2005. After doing so (easily), I used the product for one week when it stopped responding. It turns out that my data files had been corrupted. The 2005 format is not compatible with previous versions, so I had to recreate a weeks worth of checks, payments, payroll, and desposits - a task that took the better part of a day. I pity a larger business that could easily spend much more time than I. After waiting on hold for 2 HOURS, I was instructed to e-mail some files to QB so that they could fix the errors and mail them back to me in a usuable format.. guess what - its been 2 months and no one has responded to that, or several subsequent, e-mails... Im glad I rolled back to 2004 on my own... now, if I can get someone on the phone to get a refund...

> 24 hourDont run your business with this software if you are careful with your money - as most small businesspeople are. Every few years you have to upgrade in order to maintain the ridiculously expensive payroll tax update. I wish I had never upgraded from the early 1990s version. You used to be able to manually enter the federal and state withholding infomation in the earlier versions, which makes sense for a very small business like ours. But you cant do that anymore. In order to even OPEN the payroll window, you MUST subscribe to the payroll update service! I seem to recall that its almost $200 per year now, and increases annually! It is now May, 2005, and I just received a notice that Intuit will no longer be providing tax tables for the 2003 version. I dread opening mail from Quickbooks, because notices like this are not uncommon. I am looking for a different software program for 2006.
