06-06-2025This is working out pretty well overall. Our business has been using it for 1 year now, and we have to look back and say it was great, helped us in many ways. Of course there are a few annoying things (we like to write long estimate proposals and it only allows line by line entries-it assumes you are selling items!). On the positive side we love that it backs up to .mac service every time you quit program, and it has never crashed, very robust. This was an easy and natural progression from Quicken.

> 3 dayJust started a small business. I had Quickbboks already so I went with Point of Sale for the retail benefits. POS needs improvement on charge accounts. When you enter a purchase and supply it to an in house charge account you have to total reenter it to apply the payment, and reserve the first sale, it makes it look like a return. It is costly, you get technical support free for 30 days, after that you have to pay $299. for one year. I started out with 1499. invested and I have had to spend additional $400, for an upgrade and $899 for another quickbooks pro to work with two computers. Wish I had invested in Peachtree instead. Its more friendly and less complicated. and the integrating with the Quickbooks is not defined well.

> 3 dayUpgraded to 2005 with all expectations that things would work as they always did. Imagine my surprise when, creating the first 2005 invoice, I was asked for an e-mail address for the customer. Yes, theres a cancel, but it cancels the invoice. You cant get to the customer profile to change the preferred method of sending when the e-mail window is there. Yes, you can enter your own e-mail address and later delete them all from the Send function. Waste of time. Theres no way to globally change all clients. Im now about half way through changing 1200 customer profiles. Who at Intuit thought it would be a good idea to default customer profiles to e-mail invoices? Who tested this and said Wow, good idea. Stupid!!!

Greater than one weekWhen I bought this item I didnt realize that the seller was in Hawaii as Im on the island of Antigua a land mass and more miles to the east. The item arrived as if I had ordered it from Florida and was in perfect condition. The price was extremely reasonable and I would recommend the product and the seller to anyone.

> 3 dayIve just started a small consulting business. Accounting software has to be QuickBooks, right? My tax accountant recommended it. It must be what I need. Its impossible for me to tell you the frustration I have experienced with this program. Im not a computer or software novice. Ive used both Quicken and MS Money for many years with success. Obviously, QuickBooks is designed to be a more robust program, providing more support to the small business person than the home financial programs do. And maybe thats the problem. This program looks good graphically. It has a lot of high quality instructional videos. So whats the problem? Well, even with the graphics and the videos its nearly impossible to figure out how to do even the simplest task. Reconcile a bank account? Print an invoice? I cant do either after a week of fiddling. I pump information into this beast and it just sits there. It produces nothing. Am I just incompetent? Well, maybe. But heres a clue for you to consider that I should have picked up on myself. Go to the QuickBooks site and look for registered QB experts in your area. If its like my medium sized city, there are dozens in your area. Does the fact that there is a cottage industry devoted to helping people make QB work give you pause? It should. Life is way too short for this program. I dont need any of the exotic features that QB offers, even if I could make it work. There are some good home and small business programs that will do the simple income and expense reporting that my accountant and I need, and will reconcile my bank account too. I wish I could get my $230 back through QBs 60 day money back guarantee, but I have to confess, I dont have much faith that it will work either.
