The product is perfect for my new F350. The connection points in the OEM tow package is almost non-functional depending on the size of your trailer safety chain hooks. The install either requires a good 6” clamp or hammer. If using the hammer, I recommend wrapping the connection point on the hitch with duct tape or similar so you don’t take paint off the hitch.

Plenty tough for the job. I use these to attach safety chains on truck hitches that are too large for the safety chain hooks. Seems like most of the new trucks now have 2.5 hitches where everything is much bigger. A pair of these over the 5/8 loops brings them down to where 1/2 chain hooks will fit. And they should not vibrate loose like shackles can.

My previous and current trucks are both Fords, and I always had difficulty hooking up safety chains. Some times you could try to work them in sideways, and maybe get them to latch, but they would often end up wedged in there and were just all around difficult. These were a pretty easy install. Just a few hits with a mini sledge got the pins locked in. My camper and utility trailer safety chains latch right in with no issues, buy my flatbed car/equipment trailer hooks are just ever so slightly too small to get around the diameter of the shackle. Im hoping I can find a new set that are large enough to get on the shackle. I did find that the extra length caused by the shackle really makes the safety chains hang too low. At some point I will have to remove a link or two to prevent the excess slack. Neither of my issues are really a design flaw-more just simply the nature of this kind of device.

Several paint chips upon delivery…noticed as soon as removed from ziplock bag. Interested to see how long before paint wears completely off.
