> 3 dayIve had this bulb for pretty close to a year now and it works perfectly! My hedgehog stays warm and she can still do her thing at night. Buying another one for when my current one gives out. I have no idea How long they are supposed to last.

> 3 dayNo light, good heat! this sits about 6 from the basking spot and with thermostat keeps it at a nice and toasty 92F (it would be hotter without the thermostat)

> 3 dayWeve been raising baby chicks and poults inside our house for the first couple of weeks until theyre a bit more hardy. Only problem, they will cheep and peep ALL NIGHT long so long as there is light out. This emits the same amount of heat at a 150W traditional brooder bulb, and can be used in the standard clamp brooder lights. Now I can enjoy watching my kids play with the chicks during the day, and still have my peace and quiet at night.

> 3 dayWhen I went to use the CHE, it was cracked at the base. Wasnt noticeable until I fully removed it from the packaging. I dont think this was a Zoo Med issue but a handling/shipping issue. Too late now for a return.

> 3 dayI’ve used these Ceramic heat emitters for years and have never had to replace one because of failure. I have only replaced them to get higher wattage because I’ve increased the distance from emitter to animal. I feel very comfortable using them but I do follow the recommendations of using a wire cage fixture with porcelain socket and not a dome. I also have them plugged into thermostats to regulate the heat. They are 3-5/8 in diameter and stick out of the socket about 3. In my opinion, this is an excellent product for the reptile hobbyist.
