Rio Grande Games Dominion Prosperity

We really enjoy this addition to Dominion. It puts a whole new Twist on the game. Would recommend it for anyone who enjoys playing Dominion.

I love this game

This expansion provides even more variety to Dominion. Its got some really interesting cards and I love the new treasure pieces that provide actions when played. Contraband is a great card that allows for a fast pace as its a cheap version of a Gold piece. I was a bit disappointed by the Trade Route card, but the metal victory chips are a welcome addition to the game. Prosperity provides more variety and a faster pace with the Platinum and Contraband cards. It even has some enhanced cards from the original Dominion game: Grand Market, Goons and Workers Village. I really enjoy this game and would recommend it to anyone who liked the original.

We hold a game night every other night, and this is the game most played. Most of our fellow-players have bought a set for themselves, and their friends have bought sets, too. Very fun, ever-changing game.

One of the best expansions, I think. All the prosperity cards are there to make the game BIG and to go through A LOT of cards. Its fun if you like a lot of actions, a bunch of gold and high points at the end of the game. Also, there arent nearly as many new rules as there are in other expansions, so its easy to bring into the fold.

Out of all the expansion games, this one is the best. We play on a regular basis - got to have Prosperity! Id buy this before any other expansions for Dominion.

Just like others have said, Prosperity is a great expansion for newer players and should be on the top 3 expansions to purchase with Seaside and Intrigue. This expansions biggest defining cards are the addition of the big boy treasure and victory card Platinum and Colony, respectively. With the addition of these cards and the rest of the Prosperity kingdom cards, this expansion encourages players to hold out longer before buying victory cards and buy big! Kingdom cards such as Kings Court, Expand, and Royal Seal allow for players to keep getting significantly better cards which can lead to longer games. This is not always a bad thing, but this is just how this expansion works out. Players want to keep saving for the Colony as opposed to the normal Province. Just note that when playing this expansion, allow for some extra time for playing. Overall, I would say that this is another fun expansion for Dominion and should be prioritized as one of the first couple of expansions for new players to add to their base set. First I want to give 5 stars to Dominion. Dominion is a great game and you should buy it. If youve already bought Dominion and want to know if this is a good expansion, the answer is also Yes The emphasis on this game is money/high cost cards. A lot of very powerful cards that make the later half of the game more interesting than just buying Gold/Provinces. Also there are some cards that cost 7, which is nice, since having 7 money in your hand is usually very disappointing. I have most of the Dominion expansions and I think Prosperity is my second favorite (Seaside is #1). The Platinum/Colony cards help extend the game, and Goon cards give you an entirely new way to play! My all time favorite card (Kings Court) is also included in this expansion. This is a very solid addition to your Dominion experience!

This is my favorite add-on to the original Dominion game. The extra level of treasure (platinum) and the extra level of victory points (colonies) really ups the intensity of the game. However, it can also make the game very unbalanced. Often whoever is able to purchase platinum treasure cards first takes off in wealth and quickly beats the others. That can be alleviated by playing with only prosperity cards, not prosperity plus regular Dominion and/or other expansion packs.
